Very interesting pianist. You could check out "Common Ground" by drummer Kevin Brady Trio. It's on an Irish cd on the Living Room Project label. They also have one coming out soon on the FreshSound New Talent label.
  2. I can recommend the Dennis Gonzalez and Gerry Hemingway titles.

Surely there must be some issuable tracks from rejected sessions that would make up a couple of very tasty 'Rare Groove' cds.
  4. Inspired to play this by a thread on this board- My Conception by Eric Alexander, John Hicks, George Mraz and Idris Muhammad(from Solid, Milestone)
  5. thanks for bringing this one to my attention, hadn't noticed it was available. Found a bargain copy straight away. on the player now, nice stuff!
  6. For me it's the only really continually satisfying music. That doesn't mean to say that I don't like, and need, a change every now and again.
  7. Yes, crowd noises were added from rejected live performances by the band. The cd does not have the audience noise but it does retain a couple of announcements by Pee Wee Marquette.
  8. Not that I can see. I imagine that Cook would have had a significant input.
  9. Cecil Taylor; Silent Tongues (Freedom)
  10. These two I believe. Please correct me if wrong. Martial Solal at Newport Hal McKusick; Jazz at the Academy
  11. Last on Art Ensemble of Chicago; Phase One. US Prestige issue.
  12. Around half that price from Amazon UK with free postage. £24.19 from amazon.uk with free postage. Aphrohead (via amazon) still the cheapest option at £17.70 plus £2.75 shipping. Increased in price then, I checked and mine was £19.50 (free post)!
  13. Around half that price from Amazon UK with free postage.
  14. Arrived today. Too soon to see if it's been better edited this time but at least the Berigan entry King Ubu refers to appears to have been put right.
  15. Gil Evans; European Tour 1978 (with Lacy). White cover, white label. Probably a broadcast from the North Sea Festival.
  16. A favourite since the first vinyl issue. Lovely music, recommendation seconded
  17. I'm sure I have some odds and sods on Spotlite vinyl, perhaps another odd track or two elsewhere. Nothing on cd in my collection that I can think of.
  18. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HOPE IT'S A GOOD ONE
  19. I hope it's around there somewhere. I hate that when I can't find an album, I get a nasty sick feeling. I have to go through them again and again.
  20. The latest Penguin Guide was due out this week. Just heard from Amazon UK that it's been delayed. Expected by end of November.
  21. Playing in the UK very soon, not many dates though.
  22. Lots to chose from but don't overlook JOHN JANG: TWO FLOWERS ON A STEM (Soul Note)
  23. HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY GA. CELEBRATE!!!!
  24. Love it too, but I have the 8cd box. What 8cd box set? The 8cd set is on Electric Bird k25y 9531-9538, expanding considerably the four 2lp sets.
