I've had a Rega Planar 3 for more than ten years. I had the motor upgrade about five years ago along with a new drive belt. I'm using a Rega Elys cartridge. I'm very happy with it's performance and reliability.
I agree, it's really impossible to choose, there's so much great stuff. Although I wouldn't call it a favourite track I've always found If I Love Again with the Dave Lambert Singers remarkable in an odd sort of way.
I've just been playing Freddie Hubbard's Hot Horn on Everest. It's a 1974 date with Junior Cook. Apparently more from this date came out on Phoenix. This seems to be Hayes' only recording. Do we know anything about Hayes or is it a mistake in the notes (could be, Cedar Watton is the pianist) or am I'm listening to a different Billy or Hayes.
Twight Dreams, that's the one with 'Thriller'. It's only lp length but go for it you wont be disappointed.
Great band, but then Lester never let me down. Great live, great music and good fun at the same time.
Just received. My anticipation was slightly tempered as I'd heard the music thanks to Gary (still missed from the board). But the box and it's contents restored the wow factor. A real bargain.
No. As long as my eqipment sounds reasonable I'm happy. I do need some new and better speakers (I had to sell the old decent ones as they didn't fit the new home environment) but so far I've not found any that suit our current domestic surroundings.
