I came across this illustration on the back of a Johnny Costa Savoy lp. The curtains and the table lamp show a bit more of the domesticity of RVG studio than we usually see. I thought it might be of interest.
I find the Prestige items very enjoyable but for me it's the Delmarks which are the most interesting and get the most playing. It's along time since I had anything by the Edison Quintet with Forest, I know I didn't keep the album I had very long.
That's the 2-disc version, not the limited-edition one with the blue vinyl LP and the book. They just reused the same description. The limited edition is $71.89:

How misleading can they get!!
Two tracks particularly caught my ear yesterday
Some Other Time - Monica Zetterlund with the Bill Evans Trio (Complete Bill Evans on Verve)
One Never Knows - Modern Jazz Quartet (The Last Concert, Atlantic)
I'd like to think so but Dan is about right. I've been listening for fifty years and although I get great pleasure from the the jazz of the 40s/50s/60s/70s I can't really get interested or be bothered to seek out most of the jazz coming out today. Fortunately many of the players from these eras are still active and have a lot to contribute.
