Roddick through to meet Roger on Sunday. Roddick's Wimbledon title chances have all been eliminated by Roger; don't see this Sunday being any different.
Murray? What is he then?
According to Murray, he's a "Scottsman" . I guess when Brad Gilbert was coaching him, he used to refer to Murray as a "Brit" and Murray would get irritated and shout back , "I'm not British, I'm Scottish!".
I have an Ornette cd on Moon titled "Broken Shadows", which was a concert recorded in 1969. I don't think its copyrighted, but its definitely bootleg quality with so-so sound. Needless to say, it fills a gap between the BN and the Impulse! eras.
I think the roof's purpose is twofold: one, to allow continued match play when it rains and two; if a match extends into the evening. I don't recall talk of scheduling night matches like the US Open does, but who knows. My take is that Wimbledon is trying to make things easier rather than breaking with tradition; at least that's my understanding.
I just listened to "At the Five Spot" vols. I & II (K2 and RVG respectively) and initially I was critical of Mal's out-of- tune piano, but I now agree that it adds a certain "live" and "in-the-moment" kind of feeling to the date. I actually dig it a lot more now then with previous listenings.
BTW: Far Cry is another great date if it hasn't been mentioned already .

Regardless of whatever your personal feelings are about the man, the fact is that his music touched millions, myself included. I'm sad to hear that he died. RIP.
