Acquired this a couple of years ago and hell yeah this is a dandy session! The best of Detroit including Pepper Adams? Oh hell yeah! FWIW, I dig Kenny quite a bit, especially his BN, Prestige and Verve sides. "Introducing Kenny Burrell" should be in anyone's collection who enjoys jazz guitar, and the BN Conn couples that with his second BN date. A word for the Village Argo date mentioned above with Davis and Haynes...this date is freakin' amazing! One of the best guitar trio sides around! Just my opinion

I think Verve took chances like on the said Velvet Underground, but Alan Shorter, I think, was one of the wildest choices to record for the label.

Screw the Dish. Go Broadband/Cable. Yeah, I'm tired of the disruptions everytime there's a storm.

Anybody catch the amazing four-setter between Ferrer and Ancic? Great tennis playing by Ancic in the first two sets and an amzing turnaround by Ferrer in the third, but Ancic pulls through in a night-time tiebreak. Federer, Hewitt, Safin all through as well, with Federer being the heavy favorite over Hewitt.

Why do Bird and Diz sound exactly like Ornette and Don Cherry? Is this some kind of practical joke? Suspicious lack of synch, too. The film is very familiar, but has a different soundtrack been superimposed? Its the Art Ensemble of Chicago off of a.a.c.m. great black music/message to our folks-Actuel 28-at least that's what my copy of the Sunspots edition says.
