  1. Isn't he in your neck of the woods?
  2. Hanging out at Hoffman's site has been an interesting experience for me. I think they're onto something about some of the older remasterings. I especially agree that some of the newer highly compressed CDs do cause listening fatigue. From what I've gleaned on his site, around '94 or '95 were the peak years for remastering, before the trend of making everything louder began. It's interesting when you look at the audio curves of CDs from then vs. new ones. On the older ones, the levels are peaks and valleys, but on some of the newer ones, the levels are maxed out. I also like his site because it's saved me money. They got me to stop automatically upgrading when there was a remastering.
  3. I figured she'd put the barfing stunt off until the NEXT cd. She's almost done the sexpot thing to death. She's got to keep something back for her future releases. I'm sure she'll have no problem coming up with something (get it... coming up with something - Man this NyQuil has made me punchy.) for her next album.
  4. I would LOVE to see the Nuge vs. Joe lick-a-thon! Ted would be looking for his crossbow, so he could shoot his guitar and put himself out of misery. Edit: So I'm still a little TICKED off at Ted about his comments about Jerry Garcia...
  5. Good ideas, Al! I'll have some avatar fun this weekend.
  6. That is the Nuge! I couldn't think of any other hunters....
  7. My question is, how come the sex records get a doctor, while the fix-your-marriage records get used car salesmen?
  8. I'd rather it be a doctor, than a plumber or an accountant. You never know what kind of crazy, mixed up info you might get....
  9. Jim, In January, will there be a feature to ignore myself? I'm starting to get real sick and tired of me.
  10. Joe, I took care of that poacher for you. I don't think the deer have anything to worry about now.
  11. That Musicboy sure was fun! Cecil and Eggbert gave him two thumbs up! Like Moose. I really enjoyed DEEP's liner notes to Chameleon. They really did make me want to hear the album. I'd love to read any others he's written.
  12. Jazzypaul, I'm honored that you've made the avatar your own! Big Al, THE CAT WALK might have been more obvious, but I'm running out of ideas on how to do the ol' switcheroo to Cat Shatner/James T. Cat. Those cards were too tempting.
  13. or... if you prefer black and white...
  14. Here's one:
  15. Cool! It's probably just all the NyQuil cold medicine getting to my head.
  16. Thanks for asking, Jim! I was starting to think the James T. Cat/Cat Shatner backlash had begun. I'll start thinking about his newest adventure ....
  17. I too, have been listening to a lot of Powell lately. Especially, THE SCENE CHANGES, I just can't stop spinning that disc. I feel like when he's playing, he's playing with his soul. I know that sounds weird, but heck, I'm weird.
  18. Good points, Scott! I get frustrated with the microscopic liner notes that blend in with a similar color background. I've given up on trying to read some of those. I just hate digipacks, period. I'm too uptight to just put them on the shelf. I always make sure to put them in those resealable plastic sleaves as soon as I open them.
  19. Yeah, right...six string I'll believe! That's the TRUTH! I support the right to arm Moose. Those antlers would make a superb gun rack.
  20. I must say that after reading DEEP's liner notes, I do want to hear this album.
  21. Happy Turkey Day to all of you too!!!
  22. Thanks Clinton! Couw, I LOVE that Monk avatar! Maybe I can revisit that Hancock cover....
  23. Welcome, gdogus! I hope you enjoy your accommodations here and have a pleasant stay.
  24. Cool! Cool songs! I didn't know you were going to do some Zappa. Maybe something off Hot Rats?
