  1. Here's Chris Olivarez' avatar:
  2. That's really cool, 7/4! No wonder we play guitar.... You got better people to share your birthday. Other than Jimmy Page, I'm stuck with Tricky Dick Nixon.
  3. As a sideline: I believe this is the first time a pic is used by two different board members in succession - this was my next-to-last ava... - ehm couwatar. If we're running out of avatars, this one is still free:
  4. If we're indulging in some bad taste: What's the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag? One is white, made of plastic, and is hazardous to children. The other carries groceries.
  5. One album I really love is Ben Webster and Illinois Jacquet's THE KID AND THE BRUTE. I think that's one of my top three Verve Elites.
  6. I've got all the titles, King Ubu mentioned, but the one that I listen to the most is the OJC, For Basie. I originally heard it on a Prestige Twofer LP called (I believe) Basie Reunion, or something like that.
  7. And my birthday! I should get a Michael Jackson behind bars cake.
  8. I laughed so hard that I shnarfed!
  9. Ubu, I dig both of the Quinichette OJC's!
  10. Good thing he didn't run! After the O.J. Bronco "chase", I don't know if we could have taken it. Here's an image, I found on a guitar bulletin board, of MJ making a run for it.
  11. How about Brutus, the Buckeye's mascot, roasting over an open fire.
  12. Thanks for the info, KSM!
  13. I assume you were referring to the Stanley the Steamer date? That's available on Affinity, although I don't how easy it is to find. I think Jim was talking about, Levey's This Time the Drum's on Me. This was reissued a couple years ago in the Bethlehem reissue series. Great album!
  14. I agree. I love the sound. The Beatles catalog NEEDS to be remastered. Heck, they could release a multidisc box set of each album with various mixes, demos, etc... and I'd buy those. After hearing "I Me Mine" on this cd, I want to hear George Harrison's ALL THINGS MUST PASS without all the Spector touches. I bet that would be amazing.
  15. I felt the same with about my results!
  16. Thanks, slsmcgrew!
  17. So you're a Mormon and I'm a Quaker? I'm afraid to take that test again. Next time I might be a Zoroastrian or something...
  18. Jim, Can we still sign up?
  19. Thanks John! That's really cool of you to do this for us.
  20. Good point! What do they do (other than just make money)? I remember them playing this little girl on Full House, but.... Heck, it took both of them to play that one character.... (just kiddin', I know how the labor laws work). One of my greatest joys is the fact that my son loves music. He has amazing rhythm for a two year old. I was playing my banjo the other day, and he was tapping the head of the banjo along with me IN TIME!!!!
  21. Thanks Eric and Gary! slsmcgrew, Best wishes with your upcoming parenting duties! I'll keep your son and daughter in-law in my prayers.
  22. I hope you guys don't mind this, but here's my son back when he was 6 months old (He's 2 years old now) eating solid food for the first time. Hmmmmm what are you doing? This isn't my bottle. Smells pretty good. I'm getting tired of that formula. This tastes pretty darn good! Give me more! NOW! I can't get enough of this stuff!
  23. Good point, Conn! I think my brain is turning to mush. But I can talk just like Shaggy!
  24. Congratulations Jim! Yeah, Captain Feathersword... He's a strange cat. The monotony of the Wiggles is pretty tough to take. Sometimes, I really would rather watch paint dry. Another thing my son loves to watch is that live action movie version of Scooby Doo. I have watched that move so many times that I actually can recite the dialogue. I freaked me wife out the other day with this ability. Zoinks!
