The Usual Suspects--I often rewind the ending mise-en-scene and watch it several times. I love the way it is pieced together. Smoke--The ending segment of this movie was the icing on the cake; a beautiful little story that Auggie (Harvey Keitel's character) has just told comes to life, paced to some moving, appropriate music. Airplane--I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley. Caddy Shack--Yo Smells! Thousand bucks you miss that putt! Blazing Saddles--Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish... Better Off Dead--Gee Ricky, I'm real sorry your Mom blew up. Friday--Boy, I smelled your shit for 22 years, you can smell mine for five minutes. High Plains Drifter--TGTB&TU was truly great, but this is my favorite Eastwood. I like the surreal aspects of the film, the notion that is never directly addressed but indirectly communicated that The Stranger is an avenging ghost. Reservoir Dogs--Entertaining dialogue, savvy editing, cool characters, gut-wrenching scenes...I like it slightly better than Pulp Fiction. Trainspotting--Has there ever been a scene comparable to the toilet scene? Or the diarrhea fling? Or the dead baby crawling on the ceiling? Disturbing yet entertaining. Snatch--A hilarious movie, lots of funny characters and dialogue, and another very satisfying ending. Do The Right Thing--my favorite Spike Lee joint, although hard to watch. Full Metal Jacket--hilarity gives way to horror; an indictment of war. Powerful in all aspects.

The song "Mais Que Nada" is a personal favorite. I remember hearing it in the movie JOE VS. THE VOLCANO and thinking, "Wow, I HAVE to have that song." AMG gives PRIMAL ROOTS two measley stars. I'll definitely take your word for it guys.

That was a GREAT episode!!! By the way Teri IS a babe, but that hairstyle has got to go....it's holding her babe-ness back to 1983. B) Her hairdo, and her Fisher-Price My First Make-Up Kit look.

The guy cracks me up with enthusiasm alone, and is impressively unafraid in extremely dangerous situations. In addition, in one of the early episodes he can be seen surfing his ass off on some good-sized waves. Gotta respect that. Another memorable episode: Steve and his wife Teri repelled down into a 100 foot deep chasm. Climbing out, Teri gets stuck near the top and panics, threatening to pull them both to a fall that could certainly have resulted in death. Holding on by one arm he picked Teri up with his other arm in an incredible show of strength and saved them both. Steve is nails. Safe at the top right after that gut-wrenching moment Teri gets bit on the knee by a snake, which was luckily not poisonous. Rough time for Teri!

I confess, I like Edie Brickell's song "What I Am." I also have a Mazzy Star album--the female singer's voice does something for me. I have The Sundays READING WRITING & ARITHMETIC for similar reasons--sultry female singers get me! I occasionally break out my vinyl copy of The B-52's WILD PLANET so I can hear "Strobelight." Takes me back to my childhood. Simon & Garfunkel's CONCERT IN CENTRAL PARK has sentimental value for me, as does early James Taylor. Is that a copy of The Cure's THE HEAD ON THE DOOR on my shelf? Nah, couldn't be.

Throw a Clipper jersey on him and I'd swear it was Elton Brand. Seriously, I agree he looks like a youngster.

Thank you very much, Jim R. Bags played for so long in such a wide variety of settings that the theme I came up with was longevity. The images accompanying Milt are a Galapagos turtle, a Sequoia tree, and a McCaw--all of which are known for their long lifespans. I have added more detail to the painting (like I said it appears in an incomplete state). The colors were inspired from a desire to break out of a set of colors that were appearing in every painting I did.

Thanks Dmitry, I appreciate the kind words. I am influenced by album covers, skateboards, graffiti, and cartoons. I particularly enjoy to do portraits, so I usually make someone my subject matter. Then I use what I know of that person to come up with other images to accompany the portrait, and work out the design from there in a drawing.

I have large Photoshop files of my artwork on my G4 at home. I tried to make them into jpegs to post as some shameless self-promotion but to no avail. Can anyone offer a tutorial on this task?

If I'm not wrong, the original album is what is on Disc #1, and all the bonus tracks make up Disc #2. Ah, I hadn't noticed. I dig the smoky, mellow feel to this one.

I have this one and like it, but I haven't played it in a month or so. I'll have to break it out tonight and pay attention to which tracks were on the original release and which are the bonus material.

Good golly, there will be orders placed when I get home!
