  1. Happy Birthday, Evan!
  2. Happy Birthday! May you soon be partying in your brand new kitchen....
  3. Think about the children whose father was murdered by their mother. (how's that for being betrayed by their mother?) Even if she felt justified in murdering her husband because of *fill in the blank*, a child doesn't quite understand that nuance; their father is dead and their mother is in prison. Period. Surely you can see the pain that they will endure for "years and years". You keep referring to the dead father. How about the children? That's why we don't think it's so funny... But you're paying more attention to the silly sounding names of peripheral characters and the fact that he's a minister. Be careful, your biases are showing....
  4. It looks like his right paw should be holding a TV remote...(the beer is between his legs, I'm sure...)
  5. Keep your day job, Alexander....
  6. What's the sweet bubbie's name? We want pictures.... many many pictures. Does he have that deliciously awful puppy breath ? (which has never kept me from loving big puppy kisses.... ) Congratulations on the addition to your family. PS: pictures....
  7. Exactly. I'm glad he's gone and so glad to have Adam Vinatieri on our roster. He'll be a great addition, not only to our team but also to our community. Great move by Polian.
  8. Question: "What are you giving up for Lent?" Answer: "My New Year's Resolutions.."
  9. Clearly, I need to read more carefully. At first, I could have sworn that akanalog said: "i didn't know she was a man." That would have required a major paradigm shift for me! I read it that way too. I read it twice that way.... They did a feature on her wedding and honeymoon on the TV Food Network. I think he's kinda cute and has great taste in diamonds....
  10. As posted by one of our beloved Hoosiers, in Indiana all heads have to be smaller than burritos served in the state. At least that's the way I remember it. Not necessarily, Chuck. Heads can be any size; burritos just have to be bigger. I'm sure we can find a burrito bigger than Larry Bird's head; we don't have much else to do down here....
  11. I have to get one annually and have done so for about 10 years. Mine is usually about 90 minutes long, and I have found the key is to have good lumbar support, so I always make sure they give me some extra padding in the small of my back as well as a pillow under my legs. Head phones have never worked for me--I can never hear the music. I have learned over the years to just completely zone out and relax; I usually fall asleep and even find the tapping, knocking, drilling noise to be hypnotic. I have also found that by having a cloth placed over my eyes it completely takes away the claustrophic feeling. You can open your eyes under the cloth and not be aware that the top of the tube is just inches from your face. When the MRI starts, I always think of the drum intro to "Back In Black" by AC/DC.
  12. What a lovely person Tony Monaco is, in addition to giving a killer performance. He was very affectionate and enthusiastic when he spoke of organissimo. He was mentioning musical influences and friends from the past and segued into speaking about today's musicians. He referred to organissimo as 'great friends and an outstanding organ trio' and said he was so happy to have Joe G. in the crowd. He encouraged everyone in the crowd to check organissimo out. After gauging the crowd's response to both sets, I have no doubt that organissimo would be nothing short of successful at the Jazz Kitchen. As someone mentioned on Tony's website guestbook, Indy is full of "B3-starved fans". Hopefully Indy will have the opportunity to experience organissimo firsthand--if not at the Jazz Kitchen then hopefully at the Indy Jazz Fest...(but I still believe that room was made for organissimo...)
  13. This looks great; I think I'll try this but was wondering how much this recipe makes? Does it need to be doubled if I make it in my 6 quart crockpot?
  14. When did Sam Gamgee become such a prick? (sorry, but it's hard to see Sean Astin as anything other than a hobbit) EDIT: OK... he's a smart hobbit, er, government agent who comes across initially as a prick but redeems himself because of his quick thinking.
  15. It's on FOX, and the next two hours are on Monday night, not sure what time it would be in your area. I'm taping the first two nights and would be happy to send you the tape to get you caught up. It's never too late to become a 24 junkie. This is only the second season that I watched during the regular season. I got caught up on the first three seasons with DVDs while watching Season 4 last year. It was a little challenging to keep all those storylines straight in one season!
  16. I keep hoping that there will be a twist and that President Palmer will reappear later in the day...(stranger things have happened...) I almost wanted to stop watching and boycott the season after I watched the first 15 minutes.... I love(d) President Palmer... Can't wait to rush through my day to get home to watch two more hours tomorrow night!!
  17. Hey Alison! It's nice to see you here with your own screen name; you need to post like mad now. Your chocolate chip cookie brittle sounds so good. ( I bet it's totally history by now. ) I would love the recipe!
  18. then you should probably just put it away and save it for that rainy day company. seriously...
  19. why don't you save it--you never know when you might have company who would really, really love to try some. really.
  20. Come on, Catesta! It's a Friday night! If you would show up, I'd buy the first round.... I'd even wear my "I Heart Catesta" shirt...
  21. and in addition to that, hope you had a great birthday! Go out and celebrate in style!
  22. Happy Birthday, Patricia. I always enjoy your posts. I wish for you the best in 2006--hope your day has been a fun one!
  23. Happy Birthday, Jeff! We miss you around here!
  24. I'm going to be there! Wouldn't it be nice if Chuck and Ann came out to play? (hint hint hint) I had so much fun meeting board members at Bakers--it would be nice to meet some more.
