That story sounds like it could have come straight out of rural Indiana... all that's missing is a meth lab.

This is exactly why I like him. Plus he's from Pittsburgh (and according to some folks, we're all asses... ) -

I think you're describing, in general, most 23 year olds, athlete or not. -
I love their cover of "No Matter What" by Badfinger.

Where is this documented? Or is this just presumption based on what somebody else has said based on what somebody else might have heard about what somebody else may have read? Rachel, A coworker told me of this, though I didn't read or hear about it in the media. Notice I said "if that report is true" in my post. To me, it doesn't really matter; we'll kick their asses again when we play. Oh.... I see... -

Trouble ahead for Lance Armstrong

*sigh* Boring, indeed. P.L.M.~ It's not a banned substance with a doctor's prescription. As far as it being performance enhancing, topical corticosteroids are not performance enhancing; at least not in the same way/to the degree of anabolic steroids. -
Trouble ahead for Lance Armstrong

I inadvertently deleted my message before BruceH's. What I was saying was that Armstrong was using topical Aristocort with a doctor's prescription. Only miniscule amounts were found. Topical Aristocort isn't performance enhancing. In fact some of the side effects in larger doses over long periods of time are fatigue, muscle weakness, dizziness, etc. -
or...... stuff all of your junk mail for the week in the postage-paid envelope and mail it back.

Oh, no doubt! The Pistons have been the dominant team throughout the entire season, and the Pacers were lucky to even make the play-offs. I'm not dissing the Pistons at all. I'm dissing Ben Wallace; I hate whiny players who don't take responsibility for their crappy playing, and if he were a Pacer I would say the same thing. -

This is very sad, indeed, especially for his children. Fifty-seven *is* so young. Unfortunately, that seems to be the hallmark of melanoma--striking in the prime of life. My father was only 49 when he died from melanoma, and he missed so much of our lives. I still get heartsick everytime I read about yet another melanoma death. -

Happy Birthday, Jim Alfredson!!!
rachel replied to DukeCity's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I second that! Happy Birthday, Jim. Thanks for all that you do to keep this place up and running. By far it's still the best hang on the 'net. In your honor, I will cheer for the Pistons tonight!! :bwallace2: :bwallace2: .... and you know how difficult that is for me... -
Truly... as if to say that the buffoon can't even get that right... But that's the thing... Logan's no buffoon. He just acts thay way sometimes, which makes him all the more dangerous. Nah.... he's a buffoon--he proved it last night thinking that wifey would really want to sleep with his clenched, sorry ass. Jean Smart has been awesome this whole season.

Who allowed that kind of contract to happen in the first place? Who assembled that team of overpaid mismatches? The answer to those questions is what ails the Knicks. Brown is just stupid for thinking a) he could work with Isiah and b) he could do anything with that f'd up roster that Isiah put together...or maybe he's smart enough to know going in that it's a terrible situation so "let's make a good escape plan." It's no surprise to anyone that Brown is quitting--that was a no-brainer from day 1. -
as Hammer says, I'll 'break-it-down'... *Star* is a NYC DJ on Clear Channel. *Envy* is a rival NYC DJ. (compelling pseudonyms, eh?) Anyhoo... Envy was throwing some stuff Star's way and Star just wanted to just nip it. So he thought he'd say on the air that he would pay $500 for a listener to provide him with the location of Envy's 4-year-old daughter so he could 'go after her'. I'm sure he used more explicit, gangster-type nomenclature. Clear Channel subsequently fired him... (ya think?) The above article is ~ 20 paragraphs of 'blah blah blah' basically stating that Star's verbal attack on Envy *really doesn't sound as bad* when in the proper context and how Star *really didn't mean it and anybody who has any brains should know that*. Disingenuous is what the writer states at one point. I think that pretty much sums up the article. But I like the way Catesta worded it earlier... EDIT: Didn't see Catesta's most recent post-- ... pretty much boils it down.

ah... Chuck. You've not avoided it before so why start now...

Truly... as if to say that the buffoon can't even get that right... I agree with everyone else---lame, lame ending. I found the whole conversation with the President and blue-toothed-bald-headed-who-played-Romano-on-ER guy (when they were discussing the need for the President to eat the bullet) rather silly. My thought was, "I can't believe they're actually saying this dialogue..." But I'll be glued to the set next week, no doubt!

From early French explorers ... named for the salt licks from the mineral springs found in the area. We Hoosiers just love the double entendre...
