  1. oh yeah, you are correct -- have both of those LPs.
  2. different sessions/music, same band. Top one is on Polydor, bottom on Fontana (obviously)
  3. exactly
  4. I have most of 'em up through Gallery, and they're all choice. The Trio 3 material I've heard (and seen) has been excellent. Can't think of too many clinker experiences when seeing him, whether in small group contexts or with orchestra. Solo is the one formation I feel like I haven't witnessed live.
  5. Berger doesn't want -- or didn't want -- the ESP reissued, and from what I understand he was able to get the masters/rights back. The mix is quite bad, actually, so I understand. It's a great record but it could use some help. I don't know if he feels the same way about the Milestone.
  6. gotcha, thanks -- actually, our 2020 Subaru came with a CD player. No shit.
  7. that and the Jym Young Trio I would be interested to hear but I do not use Spotify. Can this music be downloaded?
  8. A Deal Supreme
  9. Sad news. Interesting artist and musician for sure.
  10. right, I've seen those and not picked them up for whatever reason. The ENJA record is quite good. Thanks.
  11. Great album indeed. There's a Doxy LP boot of it for sure. I have an original -- amazing music, my copy has some unfortunate pressing bumps but it plays through! It's very, very hard to find in decent condition. Dusty Groove put out a CD of Spellbound, presumably licensed from Concord. I have the Status LP -- cool album, pressed like doo doo.
  12. What was the deal with Honeydew? I only have one album on the label, the Dizzy Reece LP.
  13. the only one of those I have is the Abdul-Malik. I used to have the Mahones twofer.
  14. the banality
  15. Push Push has nothing on the Dave McKenna/Wilbur Little!
  16. yeah, "Cool Dogs" and "Two Oranges" are both tunes on the record, a collection of 50s Frankfurt recordings which I'm sure she never got paid for.
  17. I feel like it gives you a pretty good idea of what Elvin sounded like in person -- certainly from what I've read, Coltrane was hardly the loudest in the group!
  18. Only have his recordings with Phil Woods but they are quite a pair -- I oughta check out his work outside of that context.
  19. Academy in Manhattan had a copy in the last year or two, but I didn't check it out. It was "on the wall" and didn't last long.
  20. she is not my (or many folks') preferred Buffy.
  21. sweet - had a couple of Gaslinis on OFF and both had too much crackle (scratches) so they got purged. I really like him a lot, though. A number of his works remind me of a European, further-out George Russell.
  22. Tyrone Washington "Train Wreck" to start with!
  23. whole thing can be streamed here: https://sonichits.com/video/Neal_Creque/years_of_regret kinda what I remember about it -- feels to me like backing music for a powerful soloist who is not present on the record. That said, the opener is cool.
