I have an original of it - you're right in that it's not bad, but nor is it my favorite Howard LP from the era (that would have to be Berlin Concert or Live in Europe Vol. 1).

American cars are pieces of junk and have been for as long as I've been alive (38 years). The only car I've ever had that I actually liked was a Honda Civic (and that's saying a lot, considering the fact that I'm very tall).

Yeah, I have seen him on a number of soul, funk and fusion LPs as a bassist - probably got the most royalties from his work with the Jackson 5 and Marvin Gaye.

Nice - would certainly have grabbed a Japanese pressing but I did luck out on an affordable, clean original maybe a year ago (after searching for something like 15 years!). I believe those Japanese Mouloudjis are promo-only and that no commercial version was released.

Haynes' Just Us was recorded in 1960. Although I guess we could go by the estimation that the decade lasted from Jan. 1, 1951 until Dec. 31, 1960...

Seems like that piece was performed several times but I'm not sure if it was recorded. Never owned/heard Liturgical Jazz but would pick it up if I saw it.

The Meinert is awesome. The Fredriksberg pressing, licensed from Meinert himself, sounds amazing. I would be happy with a clean Spectator copy if I could find one... especially one of the hand-colored copies! But it'll still set you back around $500 at this point...
