  1. The $102 LP was a VSOP pressing, I believe.
  2. Keith Tippett and Louis Moholo-Moholo?
  3. Can't figure out whether the original was a deep groove pressing or not. No mention of that tidbit in any archived auctions.
  4. Reel is done. I have Deep Down Heavy on LP - clean copy acquired years ago for a fair price from "Da Bastids." It's a good one.
  5. It's excellent. Features JR as the only horn and the trio of drummer Joe Abodeely, pianist Dale Oehler and bassist Gary Allen - all based in the Quad Cities at the time. Monterose had a stand at the Tender Trap in Cedar Rapids for almost a year, I believe, in 1964 - Chuck probably knows more about this.
  6. I'll be happy to see Francois Tusques again - it's been years.
  7. I have some crappy non-Fresh Sound LP (semi-recent) of "The Message" and would like to get something that sounds better. Might this be it? The original is a bit out of my price range... The Japanese heavy-vinyl LP of "In Action" that I've got is a nice, legitimate repressing - sounds great and musically wonderful.
  8. Dauner's Free Action is a great record; I have it on a Saba LP. But Dream Talk is certainly impressive. Thanks for the reminder on the Manusardi - I have it on 10" LP, it's excellent. I always thought it was sort of George Russell-ish but it's been awhile since it was spun, maybe I'd have a different reaction to it now.
  9. Congrats - as someone who just relocated and is back on the job hunt, I can relate very well to the search-and-stitch. So glad it worked out for you!
  10. Sounds wild! It is - and not too easy to find.
  11. Working on oral histories of construction workers and electricians - tradesmen - rules.

  12. Wow, sounds great. For whatever reason I've never seen Pharoah in concert, though his music has been a part of my life for quite a while.
  13. Bill Fay - Time of the Last Persecution - (4 Men w/ Beards reish, sounds phenomenal) now: The Battered Ornaments - Mantle-Piece - (Harvest, US pressing)
  14. Globe Unity '75 - und Jettzt die Sportschau - (Trost) It's great.
  15. Judy Henske & Jerry Yester - Farewell Aldebaran - (Straight)
  16. Wow, €250! What's so special about this LP and the one the OP is after, other than that they were apparently non-commercial releases in limited editions? And no cover on this one either - d'oh! What's special? Rare and good... that's all.
  17. Yeah, Rischka's Light Faces is a rare one - would love to have it (Dauner of that period is particularly excellent) but it's a little outta my league.
  18. Stockhausen - Spiral/Wach/Japan/Pole - (Electrola Germany) LP 1 of 2 - good to knock a beer back to before heading "out on the town."
  19. Ha, that is the ONLY way to post!
  20. Frippe Nordstrom was the one who did Bird Notes - indeed, I only have one of the variants of Natural Music (clean orig) as well as the Ayler vol. 1 (Japanese). What was cool about Frippe was that he put different music on different pressings of the same release, so the cover and title might be the same but who knows what you were going to get music-wise? The dead-wax was the only giveaway! Someday I hope all of his Bird Notes releases are collected into a boxed set.
  21. Oh man, I wish... I have quite a few of their LPs but not those. Good luck!
