  1. Aw shit! This stinks. RIP, Ted, and thanks.
  2. Terry Riley - In C - (CBS France)
  3. Luc Ferrari - Interrupteur/Tautologos 3 - (Electrola)
  4. So I got a text from my sister, Yvonne Allen, the other day that she checked out a copy of Bill Dixon's "Intents and Purposes" on CD from her local library and that she really digs it. That's good news; hopefully more people will follow suit and find exposure to this music. Even if it's not taught in/talked about in most universities, someone somewhere can be assured that there will often be an access point in one's community or peer group that will bring them and the work together.

  5. Just Paypal the amount to Leo's email address, and list the CDs you want in the message text by catalog number.
  6. This is a strange story; guess I didn't see it the first time around.
  7. CS Yeh - Transitions - (De Stijl)
  8. Codeine - Frigid Stars - (Sub Pop/Numero) They did a nice job on the reissue; I've had the CD since I was a twerp and I don't think it's ever really left rotation since the 1990s.
  9. Rashied Ali - Moon Flight - (Survival)
  10. I'm partial to Lapis, but this is an excellent one too. There's still a bunch of solo Lacy I haven't heard - Space Who and Torments being high on the list, of course.
  11. Steve Lacy - Straws - (Cramps)
  12. Peter Kuhn - Ghost of a Trance - (Hat Hut)
  13. I'll be the first to admit I underestimated what Sandy would bring. It seems like it was far, far worse than Irene. It's a mess here, even though technically my neighborhood got off scot-free.
  14. Small batch bourbon at 4 PM on a Monday? Been a while since that card has been on the table.

  15. Unbolded.
  16. Damn - too young. RIP.
  17. Night of the Hunted? I'd like to hunt down the thief that stole 90 minutes of my life.

  18. Per Henrik Wallin - Fourth Balcony Jump - (Revelation)
  19. Honestly, those whom I worry about most in advance of the impending storm are the homeless and subterranean tunnel people in NY. Hopefully they're being looked out for.

  20. Couldn't agree more, Chris -- stupid and dumb. Point taken regarding the timing, and people should be careful. But in terms of the resilience and preparedness of coastal cities and metropolises, I feel like we should weather this storm okay.
  21. Hard for me to think of it as the coming of the apocalypse as some people (my girlfriend included) are claiming.
  22. Love that photo, and the book is fantastic even with its occasional errors.
  23. Happy Birthday Guy!!!
  24. I have no trouble feeling Garrison, even if I can't always hear him.
