  1. RIP Thomas Mera Gartz. We hardly knew ye.

  2. Or you could just cornify it.
  3. Aha. The few Impulse stereo-sticker jackets I have all contain red/black Impulse LPs from the late '60s/early '70s. That explains it.
  4. Oh god, the BYG Savoy series. Were they pressed even worse than the Actuels? Maybe...
  5. Big pic is from the Muse/Savoy LP reissue, late 70s I presume. Small pic is of the orig.
  6. Michael Yonkers - Grimwood - (MY)
  7. I used to have two copies of the Funk Dumpling LP. I let one go. I've always been real fond of it.
  8. I thought P-Vine did the Mtume on CD a while ago, but I could be wrong! Wasn't AECO doing CDs of their productions at some point? I thought Kabalaba and the Malachi Favors were reissued, but my mind could be playing tricks on me.
  9. Oh, too bad. RIP.
  10. And IIRC, some of Gunter Kronberg's solos were edited down or out on the PJ issue.
  11. Huh. I've heard the 1991 reissue, which my dad has, and that always sounded fine to my ears. I've seen the mini-LP reissue, which is attractive, but since I already have the material on a decent vinyl issue, I've never bothered to investigate further.
  12. Ideal Bread = Marble Rye for me.
  13. Why that particular issue? I've got the old brown twofer, which has served me well.
  14. I have both Levitt RCAs and they're quite good - I need to pull those out again and remind myself, as it's been a while.
  15. Both volumes of Ideal Bread are killer.
  16. Oh cool, I'll have to check out this trio disc.
  17. Was it me doing a lackadaisical shuffle-dance to side B of the Autoclave 10" over lunch? Maybe it was. Maybe it was.

  18. Paul Motian/J-F Jenny Clarke/Charles Brackeen - Le Voyage - (ECM)
  19. Nice score! Bob Downes is great!
  20. Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers - (RCA-Victor orange d/g)
  21. I have no problem with Woods, really, though perhaps I'm easy... don't know Quill's work super well, so I'll have to check out these compilations.
  22. Well Lacy's probably on several hundred releases, so I'm barely scratching the surface as well!
