  1. Playing a little Plutonium Farmers air guitar before dinner.

  2. Apparently he's struggling with both health issues and depression, and could use some support. If you want to send him letters or give him a phone call in Paris to wish him well, please PM me and I'll pass along the info. I've been okayed to spread this message around.
  3. Hey Austin Facebookers - putting a call out for a decent photo or two of The Clean from Saturday's Chaos in Tejas performance. My review is in the Austinist queue but as we didn't have a site photographer on hand, I'm at a loss unless I use a stock image. You'll be credited AND I'll buy you a beer. This goes for Moss Icon as well. Thanks!!!

  4. Never thought I'd own an album with the instrumentation of flute/bass clarinet, accordion (not a favorite instrument), guitar, organ, bass and drums but between Buddy Collette and George Gershwin, this reinterpretation of "Porgy & Bess" is pretty neat. And for $5, the price couldn't be beat.

  5. Are those your ticket stubs?
  6. Yeah, my intro to Bley was with Footloose, Barrage, and Turning Point. "Mr. Joy" is a cool tune; think I got my copy of the album from a dollar bin, in nice shape too.
  7. Buddy Collette - Modern Interpretations: Porgy & Bess - (Imperial Interlude) Nice find; a $5 clean mono copy. Odd little record.
  8. Congrats to Paula and Cyrus on their new addition!

  9. Yeah, it's a really fine date, though I'm curious why they left Murray's tune "What To Do About" off the CD.
  10. Oh yeah, that is a good one.
  11. Limelight also put out a number of the Philips 21e Siecle LPs in the US.
  12. Not to be confused with this Om... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md-A0IgssDY&feature=related
  13. Super-positive vibes to Tom Carter, get well soon!

  14. Some real milquetoast Mingus on there, too. And that cheeseball Fifty Foot Hose record. Well, actually, that LP is kind of goofy, but I like it.
  15. Interesting to see that the announcer for the Nov 5 concert is none other than Lars-Goran Ulander, a great Swedish saxophonist.
  16. One of those "need more experience/how is it that you get more experience?" days as an archivist... oh well.

  17. Seems like there's a pretty comprehensive Hat title listing here, for you discographically-inclined folks. It could use some expansion to be a true discography, but a helpful resource nonetheless.
  18. Right, I knew that you knew - was just posting images of both for reference. In Haarlem is a real nice LP too.
  19. Most of mine are later pressings (Liberty, Toshiba) but in nice shape... I have an early "Turnaround" that looks okay but sounds pretty crackly. Too bad because it's a fine album.
  20. Which of the Fontanas? Great records.
  21. The LP was originally slated to be on GTA Italy, which released albums by Steve Lacy (Sortie) and Mal Waldron (All Alone). It was recorded in Rome at the RCA Italia studios, 1 July 1966. BYG put it out in their Actuel series. LP issues are: BYG (F) 529.313 BYG (JP) YX-6058 Affinity (UK) AFF 37 Red Record (IT) VPA 117 Get Back (IT) GET 313
  22. Would like to hear that - Sakata rules.
