  1. all replied - thanks!
  2. Yes indeed. The flyers were pretty cool. I made color copies of some of them, which Brandon Burke now has.
  3. When I was interning at MoMA in the archives, I saw this among many other things. The Jazz in the Garden series had some really interesting stuff.
  4. Hope he's all right.
  5. Bernt Rosengren - Improvisationer - (SJR) w/ Falay, Koverhult, Wennerstrom, Hultcrantz, etc.
  6. Received and replied, thanks!
  7. Up with some clean feed & other nice stuff!
  8. Bernt Rosengren - Stockholm Dues - (Odeon Sweden) a little worn VG+ copy, but it was free.
  9. Manfred Schoof's work with Michel Pilz and Jasper van't Hof might work; they had a couple of albums on Japo which are now part of an ECM set. The live recordings of this band that I've heard are a bit more interesting (to me) than the studio stuff, however. YMMV. I'm not sure what's on CD, but the Kuhn brothers (Rolf & Joachim) made a bunch of records in the 70s that, as the decade progressed, got more fusiony. I tend to prefer their more free jazz oriented work, but can certainly appreciate the plugged-in stuff. Joachim is a major part of Barney Wilen's excellent "Dear Prof. Leary" on MPS, for example.
  10. Wish I could be there!
  11. As someone who has struggled with at times crippling depression, Shawn, I can relate. This community has definitely helped me as well (in addition to therapy, medication, exercise, and good real-time friends). Sometimes when I am down, the last thing I want to do is listen to music. But this board is so welcoming that sometimes it seems like I don't have to have a musical synapse firing just to relax and banter. So if you need to split for awhile, it's understood, but I do encourage you to pipe in whenever you feel like it. Your contributions would be missed, even if they're one liners.
  12. thank you. Listening for the first time now. very strong. As a surman fan, it's nice to come across a session i didn't know existed Yeah, that's a sick record. He's also in fine form on Room 1220 from the European Jazz Allstars.
  13. Togashi/Lacy/Carter - Spiritual Moments - (Paddle Wheel/King Japan) Inspired by jeffcrom
  14. Looking forward to checking this out.
  15. huh - never seen/heard that.
  16. Yeah, I'd like one too. I have the Varajazz LP and am looking for the Artone as well.
  17. I don't disagree.
  18. I'll take both old-time collective improvisation and "new thing." No problem with either, in principle.
  19. McCoy Tyner Trio - Reaching Fourth - (Impulse orange & black stereo)
  20. Sad to hear this. Another fine and respected artist is gone.
  21. Wow. I got mine for $25 used not long after moving to Austin a few years ago. Seemed like a reasonable price at the time!
  22. Different strokes for different folks I guess - love Sortie. I didn't know someone had booted it on CD; used to have doubles of it but traded one for ICP 006 and a couple of nice Surman titles.
  23. Jeff, do you have the Morgue or Space Who LPs?
  24. I would of thought chewy had started this thread.
  25. They are MORE MODERN than many contemporary bands. Amen to that!! ...and Gerald Wilson too, for that matter. ...CBBB...
