Yeah, I bet it's cool. Agreed - BN seems more interested in releasing drivel like Jeff Bridges than anything from the vaults (or even really strong contemporary improvised music).
I really like that one and don't find it too "ECM-y." Doctor Too Much rules - I also dig Positions 3-6-9 with Jerome Cooper (it's his date) and Kalaparusha.
I have the LP but am still into the idea of having it on CD for the extra track, mastering, and convenience. Wait, did I just say what I think I said? Plus, more words on the Nessa Juggernaut are due soon.
Yeah, I've seen him a few times and it's always been really good. He's a really nice guy, so I'm sure you two will have a blast. You should find out if those tapes of Cadentia Nova Danica with Musica Elettronica Viva are ever going to see release!
Yeah, ditto Clunky's opinion. Though I'm not 100% convinced of the pressing quality of the Gearbox releases. This one had all kinds of whitish crud in the vinyl, though it plays fine.
Yeah, cool that they reissued that record. I have the original and it's been among my top spins for ages.
Have to say I like the original cover better:
Oh yeah.
Just for the record, Ornette had some trumpet discussions with Bill Dixon in the 1960s. I'd hesitate to call them "lessons" because I don't think that either musician really thinks/thought in that way, but Ornette wanted to play the trumpet and Bill helped him with that.
