  1. Though I haven't spun his recent recordings, I can say that LIVE he is on excellent form these days. If Zaki is anything like Clarity or the Black Saint and IAI collaborations (w/ Michael Gregory), it's safe to assume it's very good.
  2. Thanks for the proper terminology.
  3. Why would you put a bump of coke on your sleeve? That's what your knuckle is for.
  4. That's too bad. The band looked hot!
  5. The sound isn't that bad - never had any problems myself. I have The Living Music on an FMP LP and it sounds just fine. Wish Corbett would've paired it with the complete rehearsal tape that adds Derek Bailey to the mix! I've been a little slow to pick up some of his recent CDs on Intakt, but they're on my Christmas list.
  6. Didn't realise K.B. Blues was part of that twofer CD. Will have to keep that in mind... I'm not a Burrell "nut" but find him often enjoyable and the lineup for that set looks like it could do no wrong. I really love Doug Watkins.
  7. Aren't these still in print on CD?
  8. Right, that was going to be my response also. He then signed with BN and, once that contract ran out, went to Milestone.
  9. Amen. I hope you get more into his work, he's fantastic!
  10. I tend to agree with Dan's point as well. The dude should have called the authorities - taking a Charles Bronson vigilante stance is stupid, and shooting a cat in a public place like that is dangerous. What if a homeless person also happened to be sleeping under the bridge when he tried to shoot the cat? Besides, how does he know that THAT particular cat was the guilty one? Was he witnessing it eat one of his beloved shore birds when he shot it? Or was it simply the first wild cat that he found in the area? I think this guy was an asshole with at least one screw loose, and his behaviour disgusts me. He deserves at least a good ass-kicking.
  11. Isn't that what RVG is all about?
  12. That track is also on the Archie Shepp album Massy U-Jamaa Unite, same band, on Uniteledis Records from 1975. I believe it is a significantly longer take.
  13. for most "out" inside joke I've seen today.
  14. That you needed to buy two really wonderful records?
  15. Really like the Coltrane interview on LP 3 of Second Night in Tokyo.
  16. I think I'll be seeing it in Austin next Monday. Looking forward.
  17. Shellac of North America - Terraform - (Touch & Go) please pardon my Steve Albini kick of late - great to pull some of these out again.
  18. But the Coltrane in Japan sets aren't really fiercely "out" compared to things like the Olatunji concert, his duos with Rashied, or some of the transitional '65 recordings.
  19. I have some Kabelac on a Percussions de Strasbourg LP but that's it. Will have to look for that piece.
  20. I'm rarely bored these days - school, work, ladyfriend, etc. But onanism still has its place, as does the forum!
  21. You know, I just don't know what to say sometimes...
