  2. I will certainly check this out. Don't have any of their albums but did catch a performance years ago on one of their North American tours and found it intriguing. I remember they did quite a few of the Herbie Nichols numbers.
  3. CD2 spinning. Fine set, recommended.
  4. Still waiting. Seems a natural fit... It would get my vote.
  5. So, my question is; are there real balance differences or just "modifications" of the 2 track tapes? Not sure I can fully answer that one but to my ears there is more detail and depth present than on some of the old Muse and 32Jazz CDs I have.
  6. Just noticed this sad news. RIP - she was a fine tenor player with a big tone. Remember seeing her in Humphrey Lyttleton's 1970s band (the one with Bruce Turner and Mike Pyne) and being very impressed. Her style was a bit more 'modernist' than Humph but it fitted in perfectly in that lineup. Might have even seen her in Bill Lewington's as well - sort of sounds familiar. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/10953906/Kathy-Stobart-obituary.html
  7. Yeah, back then it was half-way affordable. I think a lot of the copies were hoovered up out East.

  12. RIP and sorry to hear this, I have a few of his LPs, including some which he has signed. Will give them a spin later today.

  14. I thought overturned mobility scooters and discarded zimmer frames was more of a Swanage thing.. Frantic stampede to the beer-stand and CD stall?
  15. Yes, at Cheltenham, back in the good old days in the Town Hall. Good performance that one. Remember seeing 'Mujician' at Bath with Levin as well but that was quite a few years ago. Seems like eons ago now.

  17. Saw that 'Spirit Level' band with Dunmall led by pianist Tim Richards in the 1980s too. Bristol based, I recall. Most recent was that Grimes/Cyrille lineup.
