  9. Damn - every time I see that one I get peeved. Passed up a nice copy in reasonably-priced copy in Mole Jazz years ago and regretted it ever since.
  10. Saw them in 1980 in London over a couple of nights. The music was sublime, playing like a man posesssed. Had to be helped on and off the bandstand though. I remember that he played that 'Theme From Mash' at least once. To this day, it is some of the greatest music I've ever witnessed.
  11. I'm in for Wayne Shorter's show on Sunday - looks like it's sold out. Wish I was able to head in to attend some of the other shows, including Alex's.

  18. Yes, I caught that tour too, when they played the Poole Lighthouse. Zakir Hussain was in the lineup, I recall (and maybe also Talvin Singh - can't remember). I see that they are 'on' at the LJF over the next week or so. Those of us in the regions don't count these days.

  23. Can't go wrong with 'On This Night', 'Fire Music' and 'Mama Too Tight'. He's also playing the London Jazz Festival in a couple of weeks time with an 'Attica Blues Big Band' conducted by Jimmy Owens. Tempting..
