    Vocalion

Congrats to Roger on his MBE per today's Queens Birthday Honours List - I assume that's you Roger and not a doppelganger . Nice article in Jazz Journal on 'Dejeuner Sur L'Herbe' by the way. Looks also like Vocalion have a 'new' Summer Sale - pretty well the stuff that was on offer at the last sale.
  7. Exactly what we are having right over the UK !
  8. There are literally tons of them (UK Deram) over here in the charity shops etc. Quite a few mono I think. Spinning Art Blakey 'Free For All' (BN NY USA, mono) Clark/Boland Big Band 'Fellini 712' (French MPS, stereo). Pretty good sounding issue.
  9. Rupie Murdoch The Phantom Pie Flinger Pastie-Man Osborne
  10. An old theory - I remember reading about it in a Yearbook from 1953, along with a couple of other suspects (Duke of Clarence etc.). Total red herrings I suspect. That US writer Patricia Cornwell was apparently convinced but I believe her rationale was totally taken apart.
  11. Too true. And we have a particularly bad couple of expensive and ill-advised "Exhibit As" from the not very distant past. Needless to say, I ain't talking about the Falklands.. Back to the main bill - sun's out !
  12. Farmer Giles The Yetties The Wurzels
  13. Obit for Abram in today's Daily Telegraph. The story of how he came to arrive at these shores is interesting. Abram Wilson Obit
  14. But of course. We've got to be good at something.
  15. Wardell Gray Eddie Gray Billy Bremner
  16. Indeed ! That band with Gordon Beck and Daniel Humair was excellent.
  17. Biggus Pontius Maximus
  18. I did a 250 mile drive South from Lancashire today down the M6 and couldn't believe the number of storm transitions I went through. For some reason, Stoke and thereabouts was the epicentre of the worst of it. Grim !
  19. Shocking news. He was featured on a radio show just a few weeks back and I was looking forward to checking him out in a month or so's time at the Swanage Fest. A total tragedy. RIP.
  20. Not 'one careful owner' in Whitby by any chance?
  21. Thanks for that. Maybe I will give them a call next week to end the suspense !
  22. Ian Carr/Nucleus 'Elastic Rock' (Vertigo, swirl)
  23. A great resource. The Bill Evans 'Top Of The Gate' article was very interesting.
