Unfortunately, a heavy cold somewhat curtailed my enjoyment of the weekend but I did get to see the Martino/Arguelles and Profound Sound Concerts, plus the 'Jazz Library' recordings.
Sorry to miss the Live 'Jazz On Three' - I had intended to catch it but could barely keep the old eyes open by 10.30pm therefore road safety took priority. I will certainly check out the radio broadcast though.
Apparently, part of the Henry Grimes interview may not be broadcast (due to interference from someone's mobile phone). I believe that it affected a couple of tracks.
A shame also that the Liebman Big Band gig was also cancelled due to the brown-outs at the Everyman - I had a ticket for that one. However, such is life.
The Martino film and concert made it for me (I even bought the DVD), although I also really enjoyed John Abercrombie later on the same night (does he ever do a bad gig? - his show with Mark Feldman at Cheltenham a few years ago was also really good) and the interview and concert with Henry Grimes. A1 stuff, as usual.
