  1. Popeye Olive Oyl Nancy Dell'Olio Sven Hagar The Horrible Ivar The Boneless
  2. Gotta include some Horace Silver in there. And Blakey !
  3. Ha - DMM ! Nice blancmange mould.
  4. How about a track from Bobby's 'Post Motown Bop'? The other ones were 'The Inventor' and 'No Question About It'. All good.
  5. Godron Marx Engels
  6. Lee Morgan 'Tom Cat' (Music Matters 2x45rpm, stereo)
  7. Gil Melle 'Patterns In Jazz' and Freddie Hubbard 'Here To Stay' (both Music Matters 2x45 RPM) This series is on a roll !
  8. It would be a toss-up between the Basie Studio Roulette and the Mobley LP set. Not an easy decision.
  9. The clip of him at that recent BBC4 'Guitar Gods at the Beeb' was indeed excellent !
  10. Tony Oxley 'Four Compositions For Sextet' (UK CBS, stereo)
  11. Even Joe's not-so-mint boxes are worth a shufties !
  12. I wonder if he has a Hank Mobley stick-insect original Blue Note?
  13. More sad news. RIP
  14. I always thought the limit was around $35, didn't know it was changed. For a $50 set my guess is that you will probably be OK and exempt from votive offerings to Godron.
  15. I'm sorry to hear it and wish everyone well in finding something soon. I have to say that I haven't seen anything like this since the dire period 1980/81 and this may even be more severe.
  16. Johnny Coles 'Little Johnny C' (Music Matters 2 x 45rpm stereo) Better than the real thing !
  17. Well-earned pint of Badger Brewery 'Tanglefoot' !
  18. I've got a Johnny Hawksworth on UK Columbia that matches that description - two single sided LPs. Came in regular sleeve - review copy.
  19. Tony Williams 'Angel Street' (BN Manhattan, stereo)
  20. How is the King pressing of this one John? (I think I know what the answer is..)
  21. Pat Metheny 'Secret Story' (Geffen 2LP) system tweeks..
  22. Well - you know what my answer to that one will be.. A fabulous album, indispensible if you like Morgan. 'Gary's Notebook', 'Hocus Pocus', all great tunes - and a great band with Barry Harris and Joe Henderson. If you don't like 60s Lee Morgan it may be different though.
  23. Maybe I'm losing it but hasn't this one already come out on CD? Having said that, new liner notes with quotes by Jon Hiseman sounds good !
