  1. That's damn cheap ! Minimum I've seen round here is £1.03 a litre, which equates to about £4.60 a gallon, ie. a socking $9.75 a gallon There were 'plans' by the Government to add another 2p per litre tax in todays budget but looks like they might defer it. Maybe they think they will have another fuel mutiny on their hands.
  2. Remember seeing it the first night it was broadcast on the BBC (or was it ITV?). About 1975... The one big laugh it gave me was that spoof blues singer - 'Blind Lemon Pie'
  3. Hello Frank Sorry to miss the show - was recovering from a bout of bad cold, otherwise I would have been there. The 'English Soup*' sounds intriguing , hope to catch it at one of the forthcoming gigs a bit later in the Spring. Must pick up the newish Village Band CD too.

  6. There was a series of vinyls issued here in the UK in the mid-80s with very similar cover art, also compiled by Mr Peterson just as the Blue Note hard bop craze was taking off. I think the first 2 were 'Blue Bop' or something like that. I have Vol 2 - full of Don Wilkerson, Tina Brooks, Mobley etc. Intended for dance floor use I think.
  7. Yep, that's Frank Eichler's site. He sometimes posts over here and also on AAJ. The Village Band have a new project out - which they 'aired' last week at the Phoenix in Exeter. Unfortunately I missed it - hopefully catch it a bit later in the year.
