  1. Ken Clarke's Jazz Greats Former Chancellor of the Exchecquer the Right Hon. Ken Clarke MP talks about Horace Silver with saxophonist Alan Barnes. Worth a listen. Clarke knows his stuff on the jazz front (sure I've seen him in Ronnie Scotts in the past puffing away on one of his stonkin' cigars). Some nice insights too from Alan Barnes, who has been touring with a Silver tribute group. Next - D. Rumsfeld plays Grachan Moncur III...
  2. Peter Finch Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards Jay Leno
  3. Have a great birthday Erik ! Hope Zweitausendeins have sorted things out for you.
  4. There's a TV chef over here who cooked this stuff up on TV as an appetizer. I kid you not ! Hugh Fearnley- Whatshisface? I remember this 'earth-mother' type who wanted her friends to 'share' her childbirth experience. TV Dinners? Was that the show? That's the man and I think that was the programme. He's toned down his recipes a bit since then, thankfully.

  6. I've got all 12 disks in their individual plastic sleevs with the bespoke snazzy artwork and track listings. Just need to put them all now in a blank black box ( ). At some stage I'll add the custom CD labels.
  7. Splendid. It is indeed worth all of the aggro ! Now you just have to download those 7 or 8 live Miles DVDs and the Buddy Rich 'Talk of the Town' DVD
  8. Still nothing in the mail so request sent by email to Sidewinder. I'll be very late with any comments. Tooter - no problem. Please email or message your address details (I think I have them somewhere but just in case..)
  9. The Dean Benedetti Book is quite a tome as well. Don't make me start regretting not getting the Mildred set. Damn !..
  10. I can only speak for the Mosaic JJ LP set but the music is fantastic, the sound is great and the booklet a gem ! Miss this one at your peril..
  11. Happy Birthday Your Madge !
  12. Afternoon ! Looks like it's now downloading properly. When functioning you should see a scroll bar showing progress and listing both download rate and upload rate (if you are also uploading to other machines). As an example, here's one I have on the go:
  13. Stanley Turrentine 'Joyride' (BN NY USA mono) Can never understand why this one gets dissed so much - it's a beaut !
  14. Freddie Roach 'Down To Earth' (BN NY USA mono) Kenny Drew 'Undercurrent' (King) Bobby Hutcherson 'Oblique' (King) Grant Green 'Matador' (King)
  15. Wasn't the original of that one limited to something like 99 copies? There was also a very limited reissue with both black and white covers I believe. Yeah, 99 and the reissue that I have is the one you're referring to. Got it new from a Japanese dealer and it was still an arm and a leg... I can believe it. The only reissue I've seen was over £100 so don't even want to think what the original might raise. Nice find !
  16. Message sent regarding items #1 and #2 ! Someone should pounce on the 'In 'n' Out'. The original NY USA mono with ear of that one sounds just lovely.
  17. Must have timed-out. Either that or they couldn't justify another production batch before 'mandatory' timeout.
  18. Grant Green 'Visions' (BN Liberty blue/black label) Grant Green 'Live at the Lighthouse' (BN Liberty 2LP)
  19. Only 2 medals on him that day. Must have been off-duty.
  20. Just starting up the Andrew Hill Select..
  21. Wasn't the original of that one limited to something like 99 copies? There was also a very limited reissue with both black and white covers I believe.
  22. Judd Nelson (and I pity any man who can connect Stack to Nelson) Dave Foley John O'Hurley Liz Hurley Hugh Grant Divine Brown
  23. Tommy Flanagan 'The Cats' (New Jazz mono deep groove) Miles Davis 'Star People' and 'Dingo' (both UK CBS)
