  1. It would seem just the opposite that for not extremely rare rock records, a part the damn Piper At The Gates Of Dawn original mono first pressing
  2. Thanks. The main reason for returning on eBay is actually the euro
  3. I didn't buy anything on eBay for a while, today I was wasting time looking for some rock records of late sixties and I found that the average prices are definitely lower, at least 30%, then a couple of years ago. Am I wrong? And what about jazz records?
  4. But it should be a criminal offense to put mayonnaise on hamburgers. It should be a criminal offense cooking hamburgers instead of true steaks. In the end it all comes down to the person doing the cooking. I've paid $50+ for a single steak and afterwards wished life in prison for the chef. On the other hand a true cook can work wonders with a $6.99 burger. As they say at Steve Hoffman Forum "it's all in the mastering". BTW RVG cooks great steak, better then S. Hoffman
  5. Been a long time since I read that one. -_- The first italian translation dated 2006. Quite dull reading, but interesting... for a sociologist or a rock fan. (I am the latter).
  6. Pamela Des Barres "I'm with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie". To balance the above hard working of Ghost.
  7. But it should be a criminal offense to put mayonnaise on hamburgers. It should be a criminal offense cooking hamburgers instead of true steaks.
  8. Traffic - THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS - Island, Pink Rim label original UK pressing.
  9. Does the Sexy Covers thread count?
  10. Jim, you should prepare some speech for the new members, something like: Welcome abord, this is your captain speaking, we are glad you choose Organissimo for your flight to Jazz Land... how about a singing greeting from our host? Yeah, a singing greeting
  11. Jim, you should prepare some speech for the new members, something like: Welcome abord, this is your captain speaking, we are glad you choose Organissimo for your flight to Jazz Land...
  12. Welcome abord.
  13. Thanks.
  14. Several of the crappiest albums ever, I'd say. But also some of the best. You mean "crappiest" for Dylan's standard, didn't you?
  15. Count me in the dylanites.
  16. Did you like his job? I am listening to Parlan's Mosaic right now, and Ron McMaster is better IMHO.
  17. I just listened "Action" on a BN, NY pressing mono, and I had the bad idea to compare it to the Mosaic. I found the latest pretty dull and boring, in one word "disppointing". No clue on the booklet. On the dead wax there is "mastered by capitol" and "wally?".
  18. Paul Bley Trio Radio Canada International, stereo. P. Blay, M. Pavone, B. Altschul
  19. Booker Ervin - THE BLUES BOOK - Prestige blue label, mono ...with the great Carmell Jones.
  20. After a careful listening I found that the word that describes better the session was "introvert". The solos seems to me more a introvert observation about music. All the session sounds like a polite conversation, where musicians are able to listening each other's ideas without imposing their personality, in this sense I like Blakey's drumming. For sure not a session with a strong interplay and drive, Jackie Mac and Mogie's solos are not the usual explosion of energy and genious, Blakey is not pushing the partners to the limit, but I like it. It might appear boring, but I think it's just different.
  21. Lee Morgan - LEE-WAY - BN 47th west dg mono.
  22. Well, what about Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter? I know he died and it may be of bad taste name him here, but I always tought that what he usually did in front of camera was just the opposite a true naturalist and wildlife documentarist, (I was one of them for a while) should do. His death was the consequence of a stupid, dangerous and uneducate approach to nature.
  23. At my civil wedding we played Zappa's Peaches in Regalia and Rolling Stones' You Can't Always Get What You Want
  24. I'm glad you started this thread - led to some interesting differences of opinion. Plus it got me to listen to Leeway again! Well, part of it was worrying if we'd said everything there could be said about jazz around here. This thread proves I have nothing to worry about. I didn't see Clem's post yet, so don't feel yourself too safe.
