  13. By accident, I caught the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra on "Jazz at Lincoln Center Radio with Ed Bradley" last night. Worth checking out if the show's broadcast in your area. (Some of the shows are available in streaming audio a few weeks after broadcast.)

  19. Got an email from CDUniverse over the weekend the my back-ordered Free America titles are in stock.
  20. Well, after you take the outer wrap off, you'll have no info on the front cover. I suppose that's OK in some circumstances - the artwork itself looks good, but it just doesn't work for me from a practical point of view...and wait til you get to the booklets! Here, tell me which titles are these by looking at the covers: Check the spines.

I find some details of the show on some site (phillyjazz.Jazzmatazz.info) -- Sun Ra Arkestra under the direction of Marshall Allen — featuring Sun Ra's arrangements of big band jazz stomps by Fletcher Henderson, Horace Henderson, Jelly Roll Morton, a.o. — will include the world premiere of two new stomps composed and arranged by Arkestra trumpeter Fred Adams — the Sedgwick youth jazz band will perform with the Arkestra on several pieces — Sedgwick Cultural Center, 7137 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia Apr 16 (Sat) — 8 pm — $15 advance / $22 door
