I like his 70s and 80s work the most. But his 2004 album is very good as well. Very interesting sound from the sax & violin combination. Some nice melodies. Not too much meandering.

I missed the memorial jam, but I've been thinking about it.
(I noticed that Ocium will be issuing two volumes of early '50s Wild Bill Davis, one of Smith's early inspirations.)
