I could really stand to get out of Philly in mid July. Since there's some momentum building around this timeframe, I'm going to see what I can do. Mountain Biking capped off by a cold one and a couple of sets of hot tunes waiting in the wings? Does it get any better than that???!!! As it turns out, Gail and I are going to be on vacation from 7/3-7/14 despite the fact that I planned to take the entire week of 7/12-7/16 off. I still have it blocked out on my calendar, so how about it? Rachel, Chuck--I'm happy to buy a round!

Dan, is the Blakey still capturing your attention after all of those in a row? I love Bu, but I don't know if could go through them all like that! Maybe there's a zen aspect to it...I mean, it's not to say that there's not something new to be gained with each track, in some cases, with each MINUTE of each track, and of course the intrumentation beween, say, Ugestu and Mosaic couldn't be different. But I'm not sure my attention span could take it...is it making you crazy?

Getting ready for two old college friends, who now live in Hong Kong, to visit. Can't do any work--my firm's building's electricity is shut off, and, consequently, the network is..."damn"...unavailable! Dinner tonight with my wife when she wakes up (she's been working nights in the ER), and hopefully some good ol' drinkin' and music listenin' with friends in town...it's been a looooooong week!

Combo of 1, 2 and 3--guilty, but the prosecutors were inept. Well, inept is probably a little strong, but I don't think they came anywhere made the most of the evidence they had. And the defense knew their opponents' weaknesses, played it to a "T"--shazam. Not guilty. Interestingly, this was before serious advances in forensic technology; here's a question for those on the board. If this case went to trial today, would the presentation and outcome be different? Based on the responses here, I'm guessing people don't believe the evidence played a huge role in the verdict (!), so perhaps nothing would change...
