Hey, Soulstation1--I just realized I've been waiting a year for this!!! Let's have it!

Shit, I just remembered...I'm going to be in L.A. this weekend! Any recommendations for ribs in L.A.?

Only one place for me in Philly for ribs: Of course, then I need to go somewhere else for sides: I'll definitely hook up some ribs this weekend...

Well, if you're waiting for Dedication I'm sure it will come out soon. How do I know this? Well, my recently having bought Live Under the Sky and The Piano as imports continued the trend of guaranteeing that they will be released domestically, cheaper and with extra tracks!!!

That happens to me every time I go to the dentist! I guess they think it enhances a majority of the population's ability to relax, but it just gives me agitas. I find myself hoping for Sanborn or the Yellowjackets...

Clem--you're absolutely right re the Stones early records--people should definitely hear them in mono if they haven't already. Such sound...

Jim, being a PS scholar of sorts, what do you think of the Stereo vs. Mono mixes of the record? I love listening to the stereo mix on headphones--I feel like I'm able to hear a lot of isolated instrumental aspects of the piece that I don't hear in the mono mix. But the stereo mix has a lot of dropouts, and if you're looking for the "wash of sound" experience, it seems like a lot is missing. As a result, if listening without headphones, I tend to prefer the mono mix. Thoughts?

If she's not yet into jazz, and you're trying to open various doors, I might swap the Ella disc for Blue Train--because a) it's such an extraordinary disc musically; B) the sound is great; and c) it's accessible on so many levels. Just my $.02!

Broad Street Run (10 miles) in downtown Philadelphia on Sunday--can't wait! The forecast is for thunder and lightning!!! Philadelphia Orchestra Saturday night after dinner (pasta?) with my wife. Sadly, it's been beautiful all week (75 degrees right now and I've got serious urges to leave), and it threatens to be very wet this weekend...

As if it weren't expensive enough to be a member of this community, I had to go ask about classical music (again) and now (in addition to the Takacs Bartok quartets) I've got to start searching for ten more symphonies!
