Obviously it's a different situation, but in my situation I've been very happy with DHL. Anytime you have one service delivering to another for final delivery there are multiple possibilities for delays and errors. I have had delays from UPS delivering to USPS for final delivery, though nothing like you have experienced. The most recent delay I have experienced was for a book I ordered for my wife. The vendor created a USPS label, and it took 21 days for that label to actually indicate the book moved in the system. My guess is the vendor was responsible for that delay.

Weird as I use DHL from Japan and get things in three days or so. (Not cheap, but fast and reliable for years!) Plus the delivery people are super nice.

Sure is a nice beefy booklet.

Nor do the majority of US sellers seem to give a ^%$#.

The website lets you put it in a cart and pay for it.

Mine arrived yesterday. Never got a shipping notice, but was informed of a tracking number assigned which stayed in shipping limbo four or five days.

There is no indication they have access to original sources to work from, no licensing, they are using the mastering of other labels with possibly a little EQ or compression tweaking to escape being accused/sued for using the work of others. Whether this is "shady" I guess is a judgment call and whether one is in the US or Europe (the copyright years vary). But I don't consider them completely on the up and up.

Some Prestige Miles Davis. First, this Ezz-thetic cd, “2nd Session 1956 Revisited.” I had stopped buying the items in this series because they are basically “gray market” discs, using the European copyright laws to issue things and no notice of licensing or using original parts. But a jazz penpal pulled my coattails towards this one saying the sound was very interesting. Well it is interesting. . . the sound is quite good if a tiny bit “thin,” and it seems as if the engineer has turned this into a stereo recording with some sort of magic. What’s odd is that if this were a stereo Van Gelder recording the drums would be on the right, but they are here on the left, which is odd-sounding. But really the only odd-sounding part of the stereo sound field, which is puzzling. Doesn’t sound like the usual “pseudo-stereo.” Interesting. Maybe it's an anomaly of my system today. Will try to listen on headphones later. 1200×1200 154 KB Then on to “Workin’” Prestige/Concord Rudy Van Gelder Remasters version. Very good sound! (MONO)

Thelonious Monk, “Solo Monk” Columbia cd Great performances here, I especially like “Ruby, My Dear”

Probably not--they probably did some tweaks to disguise their theft. And they may have used stereo mastering from Candid releases where Mosaic chose the mono source. Or they may have used tweaked Candid stereo sources throughout--I have no specific knowledge of this set.
