  7. I love Helen Folasade Adu. What a beautiful person and what a voice. . . with that special Nigerian sonority within as well. I have a hard time listening to her now as her music was the soundtrack to the euphoric five years I had with the "one that got away."
  8. I've pre-ordered the cd set--I really enjoy Everett Barksdale's playing and this should be great.
  9. Cal Tjader and Charlie Byrd “Tambu” Concord cd
  10. Often I am tempted to buy these Japanese reissues for sonic upgrade reasons. For example I bought all the Basie Roulette reissues from Warner Japan and felt they were upgrades from the Mosaic versions. But listening to the Jamal Mosaic. . . the sound is such an improvement from Atlantic LPs or cds I had of the material and so satisfying to listen to that I'm not going to purchase any of these new Japanese reissues. Cover reproduction means little to me, that's not a motivating factor. I love the Mosaic pictorial presentations.

  17. Well, it's real sugar, cane sugar, not corn syrup. And it's spicy. This was my father's favorite soft drink. Lucinda and I have a root beer float with vanilla ice cream at least once a week, in honor of my family's tradition--that was our celebratory and New Year's drink--we're not "drinkers." I like their Cream Soda and Black Cherry Soda as well. They used to offer Birch Beer, which is excellent, but they no longer manufacture it.
  18. This one again. Sound so good.
  19. Los Angeles Jazz Orchestra Unlimited with Kenny Burrell “Unlimited 1 (Live at Catalina’s)” High Note cd
  20. No argument from me.
