  1. Valentino Jazz Bazar “Essence of Wes Montgomery–Live in Thelonious Club, Buenos Aires, Argentina” disc 2
  2. These are my favorite of his that I have heard. I really like what the bass players add. Covers really don't factor for me--and is thois hard bop? I'd say soul jazz..
  3. Sonny Phillips “Sure 'Nuff & Black Magic” Beat Goes Public cd Two Prestige albums on one cd and they sure get the morning going. I especially like the little bit of Sonny on Fender Rhodes here. And some ROCKIN’ guitar from Boogaloo Joe Jones and Melvin Sparks.
  4. Tony has been steadily posting in the Hoffman forum since he departed here.
  5. Chet Baker “Broken Wing” Jazz in Paris/Gitanes cd A wonderful Chet recording.
  6. I got the same message. Which was an improvement over previous messaging concerning shipments.
  7. I'm a huge fan of "Thursday Miles!" Yes, this, after hearing "Filles" and being blown away was the next one that just grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. Still doesn't. Edits and all it just is music that holds my attention and feeds my imagination, even today, fifty years later.
  8. I guess I’m thankful for Miles. He led me to green pastures of jazz. Miles Davis “Miles Davis at Fillmore” Blu-Spec cd, 2 cd set, Sony Japan. Dave Holland on electric bass or contrabass violin was a real trailblazer during his time with Miles–just what he needed and man he delivered.
  9. Miles Davis “Decoy” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 Japan 2023
  10. Miles Davis “Miles in Berlin” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 Japan 2023. Disc 1. This appears to be a reissue of the 2005 mastering that featured the addition of “Stella By Starlight.” This was the first official release of the Quintet with Wayne Shorter. A magnificent concert, my favorite being “Autumn Leaves.”
  11. Miles Davis “Jazz at the Plaza Vol. 1” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 2023 600×600 180 KB Followed by Miles Davis “Star People” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 2023 599×594 116 KB
  12. Yes, this is the only OFFICIAL album from Miles in Tokyo from the 'sixties--he held three concerts then in '64, only one recorded by Columbia.
  13. Another sale. Still available: SONY CDs Black Beauty: Miles at the Fillmore West Sony SRCS 9748/9 $17 Miles Davis at Fillmore Sony SRCS 9716/7 $17 Jazz at the Plaza Sony SCIP 4242 $13 Miles Davis at Carnegie Hall Sony SICP 3961. $13 More Music from the Legendary Carnegie Hall Concert Sony SICP 3962 $13 The Miles Davis Todd Dameron Quintet in Paris Festival International De Jazz May 1949 Sony SRCS 5695. $13 Miles Davis In Concert Sony SICP 4236/7 $17 We Want Miles Sony SRCS9763/4. $17 Blu-Spec CD2 Miles Smiles Sony SICP 30263. $15 E.S.P. 14. Miles Davis “Miles in Tokyo” Sony Blu-Spec CD2 2023 600×600 35.3 KB Superb sounding new release.
  15. Doug Richards Orchestra “Through a Sonic Prism: The Music of Antônio Carlos Jobim” A disc I took a chance on and am glad I did!
  16. No it is not. Universal Japan has initiated an SHM-SACD series using these analog masters as the source.
  17. Valentino Jazz Bazar “Essence of Wes Montgomery–Live in Thelonious Club, Buenos Aires, Argentina” disc 1
  18. John Coltrane "Ballads" Acoustic Sound Series Impulse LP This sounds great. The Japanese SHM-SACD released this year seems to share this mastering. Bought for "Free" and ten dollars shipping from The Sound of Vinyl.
  19. All purchased are in the mail. Plenty more still available.
  20. I subscribed and that is all that I too have received. There was a note that more were due in October. . . but they have not arrived here, nor have I seen that anyone has received one.
  21. Marvin Gaye “You’re the Man” Motown cd A post-humous release of a Gaye album that was prepared to be released in '72. . . but ultimately never released until 2019. The lyrics of the title song (which was the only part of the album previously released, as a single) contain the perhaps always timely line ""politics and hypocrites is turning us all into lunatics."
