I believe so Joe. There are recordings from four Hollywood sessions on the same Classics cd, though no "Hesitation Blues": 11 to 13: Hollywood, April 12, 1934 #14: Hollywood, April 17, 1934 #15: Hollywood, April 23, 1934 #16 & 17: Hollywood, May 9, 1934 https://www.discogs.com/release/5751836-Duke-Ellington-And-His-Orchestra-1933-1935

Doom Patrol, Season 4. Man I am going to miss this series.

I'd forgotten about that Mae West track--I have it on the Classics disc. Glad this project is going for those who do not have this material prior.

Re: Paul Chambers, some imagination is needed and one would have to imagine a Chambers with lessened "habit" going forward past the 'Sixties. I can imagine some great music as he was among the very best.

“Rique Pantoja & Chet Baker” WEA Latina cd Bass – Sizão Machado Drums – Bob Wyatt Piano, Synthesizer – Rique Pantoja Trumpet, Vocals – Chet Baker Recorded in Rome in 1984, Rio in 1985 and São Paulo in 1987. An early cd that I haven’t played in a long time. Sounds nice for this rainy chill morning.

One of my all time favorites, a desert island disc. . . the one the only Betty Carter in her final masterpiece. Betty Carter “I’m Yours, You’re Mine” Verve cd
-
Duke Ellington and Johnny Hodges “Side by Side” Verve digipak cd
-
Yes, Ware. . . and Albert Stinson are two bassists I wish had recorded more and into the decades.
-
Jason Palmer “The Concert: Twelve Musings for Isabella” disc 2 I can’t stop playing this one. What a band!

I won't quite say that but I would say post-1970 Carter is more boring than pre-1970 Carter to me. A wonderful player, but more exciting in the 'sixties for me. One great tragedy of jazz is that Paul Chambers died in 1969. He is the epitome of a jazz bassist for me, and I would love to know the work he would have done beyond 1969 if he could have made it into the next decades.
