  1. There's a lot of snake oil in audio, but nature and quality of wire can matter. My favorite cables have Ohno copper or silver. I can hear the difference. Just heard the difference this morning substituting a cable. http://www.norneaudio.com/litzheim/Norse-Norne-Audio-Feedback
  2. Carmen McRae "Something Wonderful" (with bonus material) Fresh Sounds cd Nice to have this extra material. A great original album.
  3. Baden Powell "The Legendary MPS Albums" disc 1 MPS 2 cd set
  4. "Gary Burton & Keith Jarrett" Atlantic/WEA Japan cd I think this was the first non-solo piano album I bought of Jarrett's back in the day. I still have the LP but this cd sounds better. I just love the tunes, the "bounce" of the groove, and Sam Brown's playing.
  5. Barney Wilen "Essential Best" Venus Records. Great great music. . . mastered in the typical Venus "way too loud" manner unfortunately. Followed by Miles Davis Bootleg Series Vol. 7 "That's What Happened, 1982-1985" Sony Blu-Spec CD2 disc 3 A great concert recorded in Montreal. Really this one shouldn't have been kept under wraps so long.
  6. No they haven't. I actually have a handful just exactly like that and keep them together.

  9. There is talk that the next Bootleg Series Volume will cover "Time Out of Mind" so I decided to listen to my Blu-Spec CD2 edition of the album. This disc sounds so good!
  10. Freddie Hubbard "Music is Here" (Live At Studio 104 Maison De La Radio (ORTF) Paris 1973) cd Acoustic Bass – Kent Brinkley Drums – Michael Carvin Electric Piano – George Cables Tenor Saxophone, Flute – Junior Cook Trumpet, Flugelhorn (All Titles By) – Freddie Hubbard

  15. Fresh Sounds did collectors a big favor by releasing this along with what is probably the others you have in a 2 cd set. https://www.discogs.com/release/13417499-Andr%C3%A9-Hodeir-Essais-Complete-Paris-New-York-Sessions There's also this 7" EP of a soundtrack from Hodeir to consider: https://www.discogs.com/release/6483400-Andr%C3%A9-Hodeir-Les-Tripes-Au-Soleil-Bande-Originale-Du-Film
  16. It has been a long time since I listened to my copy. . . but. . . By the personnel I think these are not performances you have: Alto Saxophone, Bass Clarinet – Hal McKusick Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet – Jay Cameron Bass – George Duvivier Composed By, Liner Notes – André Hodeir Drums – Bobby Donaldson Engineer – Rudy Van Gelder Liner Notes – Ozzie Cadena Tenor Saxophone, Flute – Bobby Jaspar Trombone – Frank Rehak Trumpet – Donald Byrd, Idrees Sulieman Vibraphone – Eddie Costa Voice [Voice Obligatto] – Annie Ross (tracks: B1) The liner notes also indicate this was an American project to duplicate the compositions with American players.
