  1. Really expensive! REALLY good.
  2. An Ellington octet recording that has a nice mellow "having fun" vibe.
  3. Forgot how good this performance is. Two old veterans Russell and Allen backed by the modernists Kuhn, Haden and Morell. Wow. Great sound too.
  4. Blast from the past and still an excellent listen. Great LP sound. This woman is still beautiful.
  5. I'm listening to Earl Hines, Budd Johnson, Ahmed Abdul-Malik and Oliver Jackson in 1964, "The Legendary Little Theater Concert of 1964, Vol. 2" . . .
  6. Two favorites. Followed by
  7. Time for another excellent Wilen release.
  8. I will refrain from posting the sexy album cover but I'm listening to "Angel" by the Ohio Players. This and "Jass-ay Lay-Dee" are my two favorites from this excellent band.
  9. Miles Davis, "Circle in the Round" Sony DSD remastered LP facsimile 2 cd set. Great collection of material. I have the US 2 LP set but listen to this Sony 2 cd set more often. It is a lovely reproduction of the original release.
  10. Disc 2 of 3 of the latest Sony SACD release of Lotus. Incredible packaging! Excellent sound.
  11. Yes, what I have of this from cassette is very interesting. I'm in, I've preordered the CD.
  12. Thanks for letting us know. I have to wait til June for the cd release. . . but I'm looking forward to it!
  13. She reminds me so much of my sister, who I am happy to say is 58 and very healthy. RIP Erin.
  14. It's possible Martha is essentially gone. Or it's possible as you say that she may be important in the future. They don't show her on any future episodes yet on imdb.com but that may not mean what I think it does.
  15. Continuing the Dolphy with Hamilton theme, especially since Lucinda seems to be enjoying it and letting the stereo play on. . . . Member has made a donation.
  16. I think his introducing Paige to Marx is an important part of this season and he'll be back before it ends. . . .
  17. Well, he certainly looks different sans wig. I like the character. .. but I would, being the PK that I am. He'll be back.
  18. Found this on cdjapan: [Cross Over & Fusion Masterpiece Series] Low-priced reissue available for a limited period of time until the end of 2017. Comes with liner notes. This series features titles with the following product numbers: SICJ-151 through SICJ-184. And this Sony Music page with a video: https://www.sonymusicshop.jp/m/sear/groupShw.php?site=S&ima=2033&cd=M002039&rw=20&wd01=1#list This page seems to show them all: https://www.sonymusicshop.jp/m/pageShw.php?site=S&ima=2358&cd=search#q=Crossover%20%26%20Fusion%201000
  19. It's good. . . as an electric Miles Davis fan when this came out it hit a lot of buttons for me and still does. I honestly think Caravan Serai, Borboletta and Lotus are my three favorite Santana releases.
  20. Will do. I actually don't care what the packaging is, I've been a fan of this album since it was first released--was one of the first import splurges I made for music--and they have added an LP's worth of previously unreleased material, and the SACD sound is exceptional. . . . That's why I bought it, and will be able to give as a gift to a friend the original two cd set from the US and even the two SACD set from Audio Fidelity. It was another expensive splurge, but I'm glad to have it for an important musical milestone for me. This decade the Japanese have been releasing very good sounding (to me, on my system) releases and their releases have been the most interesting for me in many cases. Even if the reissue originated in the US I have been buying the Japanese version. I probably can't keep doing that forever financially, but the time to stop is not quite yet. . . .
  21. Holy cow! The new three hybrid-SACD reissue of Santana's "Lotus" arrived from Japan. To call this a "deluxe reissue" is to damn it with very faint praise. Oversized. Incredible printing, card stock quality, etc. Lots to read. .. if you can read Japanese! Sound is exceptional.
  22. Haven't spun this one in a while, this is a quiet storm of a great jazz vocals album.
  23. I ordered the Johnny Hodges (actually twice, once by accident) and it doesn't sound great but it's interesting.
