I've seen an increasing number of cars in silver to charcoal gray in these here parts. I have only bought two vehicles in this century, a brand new motorcycle and a brand new car, both black. I had a great uncle (one of the most favorite persons in my life) who only bought black Ford Customs, a new one every three years. . . until his final car, they no longer made Ford Customs and he had to get a Torino, and shockingly in baby blue. I love the way black and chrome looks at night, that's why I chose these two.

Allen, I don't listen to samples on the website to make a judgment. I have the set. I hardly listen to anything on a computer, I don't have it connected to any decent sound source and can't make critical evaluations from tiny little laptop speakers. And my ears have tested fine recently, not a lot of high frequency hearing loss. I guess the website samples don't sound like the set does.

Watching the SyFy series "Channel Zero: Candle Cove." Not bad for a SyFy series.

"Last Chance" always means that. As far as I know they don't give warnings when they are down so low in stock they are about to repress. when they do run out of stock but not out of quantities they are licensed to sell. . . the status is "Backordered." I need to revisit this set soon. These are great sessions.

I hear it the same way, the Mosaic has beome my way to listen to the Dial material, and I have Stash, Spotlight, WEA etc. versions. Looking forward to the Savoy set!

Looks as if it's Japanese from '90 . . . likely not at all easy to find.

I’m just starting to listen to this set. This set poses a problem for Miles Davis fans. It’s unlike the other releases in the series. I find it fascinating. I can already say that one should follow one’s instincts about purchasing this set. If you think that it’s a collection of false starts, incomplete takes, and studio talk, and that you won’t listen to this often enough to justify the purchase, well, that is what this is. I will say that for me the studio chatter, the starts and stops, the incomplete takes all contribute to a bit of education about the Quintet, Miles and Teo, how recordings were made in that studio at that time, how Miles leads a band in the shaping of an arrangement. . . and more. I can see why many would not want to spin this too many times. But I think I’ll spin it often enough. Listening here by myself I can already think of five people I know that I would like to sit and listen to this with and exchange impressions and thoughts. And I will be happy to listen to this more times by myself (next run through I’ll probably do on headphones). Sound is exceptionally good imo.

I really think Joel just needs to get his sleeping patterns right. I know I am unlike myself during the rare periods I don't get enough sleep, and it seems Joel has been insomniac and stressed about it about 100 times longer and more than I ever have been. I'll just say once more: get some rest. Sleep well.

I too would buy this if the Parker were included (though Lord knows I have this in so many forms already and am really happy with the Savoy/Denon versions) but I think Mosaic mostly feared it would enlarge the set too much and inhibit some sales, and they may be right, especially as there's no shortage of versions of the Parker sides.

I'd agree with that. Fuller sound, meatier feel. I like it.

Yes, looks excellent. And I'm among the few who like the sound of the Dial set so we'll see how this one sounds.
