  1. Yes Allen, on that Pablo cd Zoot plays alto.
  2. Good to hear. .. I have a copy on the way. I love the first three. . . have a few of the others. . . my lps are tired. This is a well-priced set.
  3. There's complaints there about any recording!
  4. I'm still re-reading this one, with other material around it, and this book is making me reach into other books to verify and supplement what is here. This is a dense seditious mofo of a book. Elements of it have ratified thoughts I have had during my years of research of the religions of the ancient world and the big picture it conveys is hard to refute and tables-turning. I've still weeks ahead in this tome, and in time will read its sequel. This is Alzheimer's prevention at its best (for me and my interests).
  5. http://www.rise-music.co.uk/browse/campaign/PRES/item/269131/Miles-Davis-The-Last-Word---The-Warner-Brother-Years.html Seems to have all the studio albums, the Quincy Jones festival appearance, the "Live Around the World" disc, and a concert that only appeared before on the "Tutu" deluxe edition.
  6. I'm not a big fan of the recordings of this band any longer, but I saw the band live four times in this time period and as Jim says, it was a different story. Never got to see the band with Vitous and would love to have, would be eager to get more recordings from the early years.
  7. Sony Japan is releasing this set in a Blu-Spec 2 CD version for less than you can order the set on amazon.
  8. found this as a Japanese reissue lately and love it. The amazing Hermeto Pascoal plays piano and flute and does the arranging.
  9. It sounds really nice on the Blu-Ray Audio disc as well.
  10. WTF? Only the first deletion really bothers me, but. . . .
  11. And the Japanese SHM-CD release on the same day: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/UCCI-1024
  12. Agreed.
  13. I agree, last season of Grimm was the best. Though I'll be faithful to the show anyway as they hired my uncle for an episode!
  14. Cool! I don't think I'll subscribe next year. . . I find myself listening to less and less Dead and haven't listened to any from the last two years more than once so far.
  15. Gotham Minority Report (I still like this one and it's getting better) From Dusk Til Dawn Gas Monkey Garage
  16. Yes, I think HMV may order more copies when released and often have some when cdjapan has sold out and has been unable to have a reorder filled. Flurin is right, if you want any Japanese release get it quick!
  17. That is a great DVD set. The Kirk is amazing!
  18. When I think 'sixties piano trios, I think Bill Evans. Man, such great work that decade. And another favorite is a trio plus one (percussionist), Herbie Hancock's "Inventions & Dimensions". . . .
  19. Ted, There should be no duplication; different labels. http://indianapublicmedia.org/nightlights/mosaic-records-release-mother-lester-young-box-sets/
  20. Article about the house the work was composed within. http://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2015/09/23/the-coltrane-home-in-dix-hills/
  21. I'm glad we are getting more of the session with Shepp. . . and will be interested to see how this mastering of the live performance will be.
  22. Watched last night's Gotham. Alfred remains my favorite character. They are really pulling no punches this season. Liked that they played Coltrane/Ellington "In A Sentimental Mood" in the bar scene. Watching Minority Report. . .. I seem to like it more than others, it's okay. Edit to add: I finished watching the episode. I like this series so far. Casting seems okay to me. Biggest drawbacks: set so far in the future and doesn't seem to be that far in the future to me, but that is necessary because of the "grown up and free" aspect to the lives of the pre-cogs; done in Canada with that look that all those shows so produced have. . . takes me out of the settings even further so to speak. But I like the theme of the three pre-cogs dealing with their lives and gifts in their way. I know I am going to tire of the "murder of the week" bit but see that at least at this point it's necessary. I think this could grow to be the new "Fringe" for me.
  23. Hey I have some Pennsylvania Dutch ancestory too,and I also come from other German religious separatists from Pennsylvania predominantly known as Moravians (more of them in my heritage than the Pennsylvania Dutch). This is unfortunate for VW and really all car-makers. But who is surprised to find that "truth" isn't everywhere in that or other industries?
  24. Yeah, I mostly watched it for Kerry Washington, I think she's gorgeous and I like watching her. . . . I also like Guillermo Diaz. But after Season 1 it hasn't been as good.
  25. Watched Heroes Reborn, which is a welcome return, already better imo than Agents of SHIELD. Also watched the premier of this sesason of Scandal, which was a waste of time. And started watching the final season of Leverage on DVD.
