  2. I got Dave's Picks 8 in the mail on Monday, and the new acoustic Dead today. No time to listen to either yet though.
  3. Seems there IS a problem with jazz since there is so much written about the problem with jazz!
  4. Have a great one and many happy returns!
  5. Many many happy happy returns!
  6. If there's still a number listed you could call, Ren is a friendly guy and very helpful. It's a shame, I ordered from them frequently and enjoyed their catalogs in the mail.
  7. I remember them emailing saying it was all over, so I imagine it is. Sadly.
  8. I'm really enjoying this Stuttgart set and think that's enough for me! Sound is very nice. (I also have the ones Bernstein conducted in the Symphonies box).
  9. Right, will be a couple more weeks before I have one on hand.
  10. I picked up the first three seasons on Blu-ray at a good price lately. Going to have to start watching this show soon. Right now watching Nikita Season 3 (not as good as the second, certainly not as good as the first, just escapist fun) and going to start watching American Masters: Hear My Train a-Comin'
  11. This is classic Trio material that was included in the Mosaic. May be a good gift? http://www.amazon.com/The-King-Cole-Trio-Transcription/dp/B000T00OS4
  12. Most everything in that set was out on Storyville before. . . the Fargo concert, the Hurricane, etc. So . . . yeah if the person is a big Ducal nut (takes one like me to know one) she may well have a lot of it. There is a thread here about the set that goes into detail, I may see if I can find it. I've seen the Cole set going for a lot lately. If interested I would do an ebay search of completed items and a few should pop up and show prices. I think the last I saw was about 450. . . not sure where that falls on the scale. Here's one thread: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=32097
  13. I'm pretty sure I'm done and will stick with this edition.
  14. So cheap!
  15. Indeed. I'm not a connoisseur, there are probably better renditions, but this is giving us a lot of listening pleasure. I think I paid a little more but still quite a bargain. Edit to add: I paid 27 about six weeks ago.
  16. My Dad and I are listening to this set today. Though temporarily out of stock, it's only 22 dollars on amazon for 37 discs. Wow. They sound good too. http://www.amazon.com/Joseph-Haydn-Complete-Symphonies-Franz/dp/B001NBS5NE/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1383660315&sr=1-1&keywords=complete+haydn+symphonies
  17. Many happy returns you bargain hunter!
  18. Cool edition! Entertaining book.
  19. Re-reading the interview I did with Michael Cuscuna about Alfred Lion. And reading
  20. I've listened to a few of the Gaslini discs so far. Great stuff! You're in for some good listening.
  21. I agree Alan. I bought this this spring as well, and my Dad and I have been enjoying listening to the discs and watching the excellent DVDs.
  22. Wow. This looks good and what I've heard from it is. Goes on my list.
  23. I've heard two of the lps. Sorry to read this. Not many left of his generation of players. . . .
