"Band of Gypys" is the ultimate for me, but then I'm a huge Jimi and Billy Cox fan, not really a Noel Redding fan. The new "In the West" (which differs in content from the previous "In the West" lp) is very good, as is the two cd "BBC Sessions" (live in studio, despite the fake stereo). The latest Monterrey release is a good one, but might as well get that on Blu-ray or DVD. The second disc of the two cd collection "Voodoo Child" is very good, but doesn't all feature Noel Redding. All my other favorites are with Billy Cox. . . .

I usually choose as an avatar something that I use that I'm very interested or invested in such as a Fender guitar, amp or string, or a picture of the model motorcycle I drive etc. I see so many men using beautiful women as their avatar and I both understand. . .and don't understand that.

Just watched the latest Longmire. Thanks for the headsup on Person of Interest Season 2 being out, ordered the Blu-ray; really liked this season.

I have them all so, yeah. It's very good. I like them all a lot. . . well maybe except for "Deerhead's Inn."

I'm not sure how to explain my irritation with Motian, I just rarely connect with him and something about the way he tunes his kit and maneuvers around it just. . .irks me. It's a personal thing and I think if I weren't a drummer, it wouldn't be much of a big deal, but I really don't enjoy his playing much. I've loved Jack's playing ever since I first heard him (on "Miles Davis at Fillmore.") I bought a Sonor kit 25 years ago just because he plays them.

Well it's been a long time since "Still Live" and these are three different musicians now with all these additional years of experience. I don't know if you'll like this one as much as the earlier one. I don't really tend to rank recordings. I think I'll play this one a bit more often than a few of the ones this century, but ti's early to tell.

I like this one. The title track is great, and they do "Stars Fell on Alabama," a Teagarden staple I love, and they do it well. I'm a fan of the Trio, and this is one of the really good ones imo.

Finishing up Nikita Season 1, and watching Breaking Bad Season 5 part 1, both on Blu-ray.

Yeah, not bad DVD prices. I'm buying these on Blu-ray though, when there's a choice I go with Blu-ray. Jim, Farhad Safinia wrote the screenplay to Apocalypto and worked on the Passions of the Christ (have seen the former not the latter). Then he did Boss. Based on Apocalypto I'd say he has something to say. . . . Looking forward to it.

I've been planning to check it out, and your review has pushed me over the edge into ordering a used copy of the blu-ray. Seems interesting. To be honest what has held me back is that. . .Grammar's voice and some of his mannerisms (especially Fraser era) really remind me of one of my best friends from college. . .and it makes me miss those times with him. If that makes any sense. Thanks for spurring me into an order.
