  1. That's really hard for me to answer. . . as I think these shows (and the accompanying extra material) were uniformly very very good, no one volume really stands out to me as better than another.
  2. There's no Blue Note material in this set. Albums in the set: Muse MR 5058 The Moontrane Muse MCD 5472 CD reissue of above Muse MR 5074 Love Dance Muse MR 5103 Little Red’s Fantasy Muse MR 5139 Concert Ensemble At The Berliner Jazztage Muse MR 5160 The Iron Men Muse MR 5298 In The Beginning… Muse MR 5318 Setting Standards Muse MR 5329 Solid Muse MR 5338 Imagination I don't really know how to label this music. Much of it is sort of mainstream post-hard bop. The Shaw originals I like, he had an interesting way of writing that he presents very well with his sound. The standards are generally played very well too, I like the ballads especially.
  3. Listened to the first disc before I had to shut the system down and return to Bay Village. I would say there's some improvement to the musical presentation, but the sound is not "magically transformed."
  4. Just got home for a few minutes and found mine waiting for me.
  5. Hope it was a great one, and many happy returns!
  6. I don't think so, looks as if they just contain the original album material from listings I see.
  7. Thanks. I'll try to remember that.
  8. YES, good news, thanks for posting it. Now to find a new source of these; I always got these from the now defunct Worlds Records.
  9. Many many happy returns Scott!
  10. Did the same thing, DVR'd that and watched it this morning. Pretty good! I like this show. Also watched Mad Men. Man, what was in that hookah? I never had an experience like that smoking from one.
  11. Smoked from 18 to 35. Stopped 22 years ago. Nearly 23. Halleluia.
  12. The Killing, Season 2 Nikita, Season 1 on Blu-ray (silly show but still enjoy it as mindless escapism with a few lovely actresses).
  13. Ken Dryden has supplied the most solid info I've found on this set:
  14. Sorry to hear that, hope you are getting healthier, slowly. I get the "brave battle." If nothing else, cancer patients may have to face a lot of tough decisions and take courage in hand to make them. And it takes courage to agree to these treatments.
  15. You're right, not yet on cd. There is supposed to be an upcoming Brubeck Quartet Live box coming up and should include this and some previously unreleased tracks from the European dates.
  16. Many many happy returns Pete!
  17. I look. But I have all the Selects, and the Sinlgles that I want.
  18. Amen. As for an influx here from there: I'll buckle my seat belt.
  19. Thanks for that heads up. Five DVDs! My Dad and I will have fun watching these.
  20. Music with a turntablist is modern.
  21. Thanks for all the fish! Many many happy returns!
  22. My 1959 EICO HF81 integrated amp, got it running again recently, still can make some sweet sound.
  23. Just watched the season finale of Elementary. Wow. Natalie Dormer!
  24. Man I love Pee Wee! This is going to be a great Mosaic set. I bet it sells a lot quickly.
  25. Actually, Chuck was posting from Ricky Ricardi's blog, it's Ricky doing the work. Here's a cool photo from Ricky's blog:
