  1. I've held off buying this because I have nearly all the material in other box sets. But I've been tempted! I like these Hipp-O Select "book" releases.
  2. Good deal for Europeans. Only about 4 dollars cheaper for US shoppers. This is great music!
  3. Like Dan and John, I want to read this book but don't want an electronic version. Hope it can find a hardcover publisher. It's hard to publish books these days. My father gave up trying to find a publisher for his fifth biography, after spending years of research and years of compiling and writing. Sort of broke his heart. And this is an eminently publishable book in any other time and clime.
  4. Liked Pan Am. Sure it's "inspired" by Mad Men but the tone is more like Swingtown in how they dealt with the past. A fun "date" show for me.
  5. The Not So Good Wife. Good tv though.
  6. Absolutely younger in person. I got to shake his hand in Austin outside the Elephant Club. Many more happy returns Sam!
  7. Might or might not be able to get it from Worlds Records earlier, that's the usual scenario. http://www.worldsrecords.com/cgi-bin/storeR.cgi?cart_id=09-25-11.13092&phrase=Fruscella&specific=artist&format=any&x=9&y=9
  8. Well, they did the same with the box set, all 22 shows are in white paper cases with cartoon fronts. I don't think they quite got the cartooning right, looks more angular and "digital" than the three lp set illustrations, but then so is this time far more angular and digital. Looks like they did a really good job with selecting items for that Vol. 2 release.
  9. Well, Heritage is a very interesting album, sounding like Opeth without a doubt, yet touching base with the sound and texture of many other bands. I hope it sells well.
  10. The music sounds fantastic! Best sounding live Dead yet imo.
  11. To be honest the only part of the packaging I don't like is the booklet being orphaned, without a home inside the case. Sucks, but I like the packaging otherwise. Not much to the notes, I'll probably put them in a cabinet somewhere.
  12. Mine surprised me by showing up today. Wow. Great sound. I can and will live with the packaging. Bring on Vol. 2!
  13. That's a good hiding place. I'd never find my stasch in that thing.
  14. Well, "our" Lincoln (the cop, an FBI agent) met up with Olivia in an episode of last season, but doesn't remember that now due to whatever it is that Peter did. And "their" Lincoln was in Fringe and replaced Broyles as head when Broyles was transported missing a few pieces to our side. The original Watcher that we met allowed Peter and Walter to live by rescuing them from drowning when Walter stole "their" Peter from his world after curing him. This compassionate act by the Watcher apparently changed what "should happen" and he's been trying to repair that damage. I don't think anyone (possibly even the writers ) knows who gives the Watchers their marching orders. . . yet. I like the parallel universes storyline that has dominated the last two seasons, but not sure I like this permutation of it as it smacks really loudly to me of LOST Season Six. But we'll see, maybe that similarity isn't or won't be too prominent going forward. I just didn't find it very funny, which sort of dooms it for me. I'm not just content to watch it because it's got Zooey. I wanted it to be funny, kept saying "come on, get funny!" It just got dumber. But that's just me, I'm glad you're enjoying it.
  15. I think there's a chance that this is intentionally so, as Lincoln Lee on the other side was a Fringe agent and in fact became the head of the department. I think there's something about the "merging" of many characters that is going to show combinations of both individuals in the parallel worlds.

    INGO Records

The Bern Monk was out on cd on the Magnetic label. Sound is not good.
  17. Many many happy returns Ron!
  18. In that case it might be over 24" long!
  19. Look above.
  20. I see your points. . . and they're valid. I guess I just like the "vibe" of this show a lot and see enough of it intact. We'll see. Fringe premiere was . . .a bit disappointing. They're going all final season of LOST here. . . and they better have a handle on it.
  21. Mr. Lunky, I hope you really enjoy it. Brooks, I know you WILL.
  22. Just finished the book that comes with the Grateful Dead Europe '72 box set. VERY GOOD.
  23. Thought that was pretty lame to be honest. We'll see what it's like without Wayens, Jr.
  24. I can handle later Jerry JGB, but that's it. I have all the official releases of material up through the Godchaux years, and a few others, but I don't listen to the others, I've tried but I so much of the Pig and Keith years to listen to (including hundreds of shows downloaded). . . . After a few years with Brent it just seems a totally different band to me, one I don't dig.
  25. Just a few hours away!
