  1. Added another Sonny.
  2. Hey Bobby, I loved your sound with Sonny when I saw you in Austin in May. What amp were/are you using? Thanks!
  3. The alternates of "Indigoes" are from the mono lp. . . the sound on this and ADIAW is quite good. I really like "A Drum is A Woman" . . . just fun stuff. I'd love to see the "broadcast" one day, probably never will.
  4. YAY!
  5. She looks young. I'm old. And spoken for, thank God! Man I have sore fingers, I"ve been playing a lot.
  6. PM Received and answered. Thanks Pete.
  7. Well, Oldies IS filling backorders; I got about 20 from two orders arriving today (not everything, but nearly). I didn't realize they would according to my original invoice so I had ordered the following from amzon.com for about the same price and a bit more, and now I have these duplicates in case anyone is interested. Sonny Rollins, "Easy Livin'", OJC, 5 dollars including postage to a US address Sonny Rollins, "This is What I Do", OJC, 5 dollars including postage to a US address Sonny Rollins, "The Cutting Edge", OJC, 5 dollars including postage to a US address Sonny Rollins, "Sunny Days, Starry Nights", OJC, 5 dollars including postage to a US address Sonny Rollins, "Falling in Love with Jazz," OJC, 5 dollars including postage to a US address Chick Corea/Gary Burton, "The New Crystal Silence," 2 CD set, sealed, 5 dollars including postage to a US address
  8. Added more . . . I didn't realize Oldies.com was going to fill backorders.
  9. Shawn got good news last week. . .work, starting Monday and probably/hopefully continuing for some time.
  10. In my opinion 8 track tapes and pre-recorded 'reel-to-reel' tapes "made it." At least in the US. SACDs. . . well they've almost made it, they still might, they've had more longevity than many guessed. I'm really enjoying classical material on SACD, and there's quite a choice of titles.
  11. Crystal Geyser Sparkling Mineral Water. If you're not hydrating, yoiu're dehydrating.
  12. Looks pretty much like all the Prestige cuts.
  13. Disc Two of the Griffin Storyville, the Griff and Lock date.
  14. Just finished a cafe latte from the Mandola Italian Market (in the Triangle, walked over there to pick up a chopped antipasta salad to share for lunch, yumyumyum). The latte was excellent!
  15. Send twenty thousand dollars in bills in a fancy box with a card with your phone numbe on it.

Well, I've done comparisons and I don't agree. Sound significantly different to me. C'est la vie.
  17. Louis Armstrong, Decca. His (and Obama's) birthday is coming up.

I know some people don't dig the sound, you among them. I DO really enjoy the sound. Don't have that kind of money in a system, but I do have a nice system. To each their own.
  19. You keep the girl, I'll take the car. Today after a very (positively) emotional early morning, "Skylark" . . . heard two versions by Aretha and the second one was transporting and stuck in my head.

Well, I'd be happy if the RVG series continues; I have every one and I prefer the sound in this series to the other editions. So I'm replacing titles and giving away or selling the others. I'm nuts. . . I know.
  21. Probably that will reappear, but there will be no new ones, none are planned. I suggested a Roulette Phineas Newborn title and the response included a comment that there are no plans for new Singles.
  22. He didn't stand up for them, he let the deal go down. Let his client go to the dogs. And said "gee this is wrong." Big whoop. He cheated on his wife, he misled the women he was cheating with and left them hang, no one was more important than he. NO one. Even was coldly selfish with his longlost brother, causing his DEATH. Crummy husband, crummy father, okay business man. I'm so glad I'm nothing like him.
  23. I suggested that one to Mosaic as a Single one time, but didn't hear anything beyond "we'll look at it," which is their stock answer to irritants like me. I think it's a great album that really captures Hackett's gorgeous tone well, and I've always wondered if there weren't more things recorded at that session worth issuing. greg mo Mosaic pretty much told me there will be no new "Singles". . . at least not for some time.
  24. He's a slime! I don't empathize with him or admire him at all, and that makes a problem for me with the series.
