  1. This "My Ever Changing Moods". . .it's a very good summer album in my opinion. I'm enjoying replays; it has a great feeling behind it, you get (as in many another Monday cd) that sense of her optimism and warmth, and man is that welcome!
  2. Beef tamales, "spanish" rice, "Ranch Style Beans."

    Rubber Soul?

Some very few copies were shipped to stores. And on the shelves one to two days. (According to Antiques Road Show).
  4. Y'all are right, that RCA LP box set is da bomb.
  5. These are hybrids and will play in any cd player.
  6. I don't doubt it, I had meant to get the legal one. MG, It's really not worth the trouble for me to return the disc, I have other problems to attend to, I'll likely sell the disc or give it away.
  7. Darn. Sorry it's out of stock at dusty now, guess I ordered just in time. Here's the eMusic Michiru page: http://www.emusic.com/artist/Monday-Michir...d/11640168.html Two remixes of "The Right Time", and three comps that each have a track featuring Monday. A Calmaria (Sailing Into The Unknown Version) on Compost Moving Shadows (Featuring Monday Michiru) on "Covert Movement" Laid Back & Eazy (Featuring Monday Michiru) on "Tuned in Turned On"
  8. Hope you enjoyed the photos inside the booklet. They're from a series I took during the recording session -_- Sorry to report there are no photos in the inside booklet of this new ESP-DISK cd. Just text. The official ESP reissue of the session is the one with this cover The liner notes include the photos! You're right. I ordered the orignal from cduniverse I thought. . . got the Abraxas. Just fixed that via an order from ESP-DISK itself. .
  9. Okay, time to update here: Monday released a new album, in Japan, My Ever Changing Moods. It's really GOOD. Dusty Groove can get you a copy (for a price!) If you happen to be one of those really shallow people who only like Monday for her gorgeous looks. . . I'll mention the bikini photographs inside one of the two booklets. . .
  10. I think they may be representing the estate and we may see them releasing other Ayler material they had not before. A good thing.
  11. Looks as if ESP-DISK is about to release this, September 4, along with the Sunny Murray, and the Bud Powell at the Blue Note. According to cduniverse. . . .
  12. No specific information, just saw it listed as an upcoming cd. I'll see what I can find.
  13. Yes, those are both excellent. I see there's a new version of "Hilverhsum" out now.
  14. Hope you enjoyed the photos inside the booklet. They're from a series I took during the recording session -_- Sorry to report there are no photos in the inside booklet of this new ESP-DISK cd. Just text.
  15. More! More! More! (Happy ones! and ESP cds!)
  16. Listening to Spirits Rejoice ESP-DISK cd right now and loving it.
  17. Many many more happy returns!
  18. Nat speaking Spanish was a fantastic business move, probably the idea and plan of his manager Carlos Gardel. He was arguably the first "English Speaking" American to tour the Central and South American countries singing Spanish and he was very successful both critically and financially doing so, and he paved the way for many others singing in Spanish (and in English). I agree that it's not the same as the work of others. But then again I also know it was popular even in the US among some markets. A work partner of mine told me his father was crazy about those two albums he did, and his father was of Mexican descent living in San Antonio all his life. . . . So. . .Nat's charisma carried him where his real knowledge of Spanish did not perhaps.
  19. Freeform didn't say that is not okay, he just didn't feel it was necessary. I was feeling that myself. I'm not cavalier about racism by any means, but after so many years of listening to songs from the teens and twenties by both white and black artists like "Snowball," and "Mississippi Mud" I'm AWARE and have a perspective on it. I wouldn't find it necessary to explain that or notate it. . . . I agree it's hard for me to divorce myself from this viewpoint I have and see such a situation with different eyes. I'm very aware of racism in American life, just this week have encountered bits of racism from both whites and blacks here in Houston. It's shaped and is shaping this country. Just as have many other things we haven't outgrown such as protecting economic interests with warfare and enjoying "equality" where rich get richer and poor get poorer. I'm not going to buy this Mercer Select, but it won't be because of those lyrics.
  20. I like the packaging on Chuck's AEC box. I really like the Ayler "Spirit Box". . . though I put the cds into a four banger and a six banger that I made artwork for. I really like the Miles Davis Columbia sets with the spines. . . a little clunky but beautiful and I've never scratched the cds.
  21. I like what you say.
  22. I've been enjoying the Ellington as well, and listening to the live set, which I don't find tiresome. . . I've always liked it, bought the cds soon after release. I think the sound on this mono Ellington cd is exceptional! I decided to order the RCA Newman/Cohn/Green today. I have the material, but think it will sound better here.
  23. Did a little more looking. . . cds I bought from the blowout sale by Adderley, Charles, Eardly, Ellington and others. . . gone from the webpage. There was a serious reduction of in print titles last summer. Ah well. Glad I got 'em, sad they're not available.
  24. No arguments from me!
