  1. Disk #7. The last 2 disks (from the 80s) are much weaker than the rest of the box. I suppose they had to include them because it's "The Complete Muse Sessions," but I would have been happy with a 5-disk set of only the 60s-70s dates.
  2. These points pretty much sum up my current streaming use, too. I still buy CDs, especially at shows where they're selling their albums. No one's mentioned Amazon's streaming service. If you already have Prime, the added streaming is cheaper than the other services and they have a huge catalog, too.
  3. Just starting to dig into the Woody Shaw Muse set. Some real GEMS in there!
  4. I already placed an order for Clifford Jordan. I suggest anyone who's interested in that box should do the same. Maybe they're waiting to see what the demand is before ordering another run.
  5. The Woody Shaw Muse box arrived today. Looks great, but I never noticed this session before: (A) Woody Shaw, tp; Joe Henderson, ts; Larry Young, p; Ron Carter, b; Joe Chambers, d. - Van Gelder Studio, December 1965 Just a month after Larry Young's great "Unity" album on BN!
  6. Lotsa changes today, and more coming soon I think.
  7. Resonance posted this message on FB today, followed by Cuscuna's email text. Very thoughtful! "NEED YOUR SUPPORT! The gold standard of archival jazz releases Mosaic Records needs our help now (read letter below). Zev Feldman says, "If not for Mosaic Records and Michael Cuscuna, Resonance wouldn't be doing what we're doing. Period." Please visit mosaicrecords.com and place an order today!"
  8. J.A.W. posted this on the Hoffman forum today: "Just heard back from Scott in another matter and he told me they've been swamped with orders - finally a more positive note"
  9. I think I mentioned in the earlier thread (now deleted) that Threadgill is a must-have for anyone who's even remotely interested in his work.
  10. Thanks. Interesting assortment of musicians across those albums. Don't know why I didn't order it earlier.
  11. OK, I just ordered Clifford Jordan. If I get it ... GREAT! If not ... at least I tried.
  12. Regardless of the "back order" reason, I'm still hesitant to place an order for one considering their tenuous financial situation.
  13. I'll have to get that one of these days. FYI, there's a better price here: importCDs
  14. The three to five disk sets and Selects were definitely much easier on the wallet. I have been much more selective about which sets I buy in the last few years. I would love to get the Beehive box, but just can't justify it, unfortunately.
  15. I recently ordered the Woody Shaw Muse set and am looking forward to it. I have a few of the original albums on vinyl, but my records are in storage and I don't play them anymore. Would like to get the Clifford Jordan set too, but it's currently on "back-order." I doubt that it will be available again. [DISCLAIMER: I said virtually the same thing in the old, deleted thread]
  16. Just ordered Woody. Looking forward to it.
  17. Definitely getting the Shaw box. I have a few of the originals on LP (in storage), but don't play records anymore. I was hoping to get The Complete Clifford Jordan Strata-East Sessions at some point, but it's "back ordered." I wonder if it will ever come back at this point.
  18. Anyone know why the audio clips on the website don't work? Whenever I click on one, it tries to download an "asx" file.
  19. AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!! [wait................WHAT??...........you're moving outta Texas? No WAY!]
  20. One of my favorite box sets. A truly inspired collection.
