  1. Opeth.........definitely worth checking out. (Mastodon, too)
  2. Saw that group last year in Austin. Good show! Currently listening to Dave's "Ashgrove" album which I'm really enjoying.
  3. Great. LOVE Joe.
  4. Don't rub it in.
  5. I'd like to see them. They're coming to Yoshi's soon - I might have to check that out.
  6. If it's anything like the sets that were reissued in the 70's, the sound is excellent.
  7. Saw the Sadies on Wednesday night. VERY intense. See them if you get a chance. Kind of a Byrds/Burrito Bros/surf instro/spaghetti western/psychedelic band from Toronto. They also have played supporting roles with Jon Langford, Neko Case and John Doe. Sunday: The Jack DeJohnette Group at Yoshi's with Jerome Harris, David Fiuczynski, Rudresh Mahanthappa and George Colligan
  8. OK........you guys convinced me that I HAVE to go. Got tix for Sunday night. Will report back ...
  9. I really should go to that show. Will have to do some planning.
  10. Next weekend at Yoshi's Oakland: The Jack DeJohnette Group feat. Rudresh Mahanthappa, David Fiuczynski, George Colligan & Jerome Harris

  12. yeah, right..........I heard THAT before.
  13. Saw him (with Billy Harper sitting in) at Yoshi's a year or two ago. VERY entertaining. Everyone needs to see Randy Weston.
  14. I think the "genius" is in the promotion. Take a set of so-called limited edition box collections that have been taken out of circulation for a number of years and re-package/re-release them in a faux instrument case with assorted additional do-dads and then charge an arm and a leg for it. Brilliant!
  15. I was hoping to read more interesting discussion about the Rivers/Hendrix jam, but I guess that topic is LONG gone.
  16. Thanks, David. I must have screwed up my search somehow. I'll look through your links, too.
  17. I don't see the Hubble picture in this link.
  18. Anyone here have connections to Sam? If so, it would be worth contacting him about releasing this in some form or another.
  19. I think so. Look around on http://gbase.com and get an idea about the price. Couldn't find anything there, but I'll keep looking. I had no idea ... (as they say on Antiques Roadshow).
  20. I've got this old 60's-era Tele that's been reshaped, refinished. neck PU replace, and needs fretwork. It also has a beat-up case. A dealer told me (sight un-seen) that even in this condition it might be worth a thousand or two. Is that possible?
  21. Steve Berkowitz
  22. Let's face it, he only released 4 albums during his lifetime. Everything else is a collection of one sort or another based on speculation or some producer's imagination. Of course! Hey, I'll take what I can get. Somehow Jimi can't be overplayed around here. Exactly.
  23. Great! Good to know.
