Box arrived from Amazon today. Looking forward to it!

The only remasters I have are in the MCA box with the alternate covers, stamps(!), etc., and produced by Alan Douglas. Maybe I'll think about getting them again this year.

Definitely sounds like something worth checking out in the future. Amazing that it's only $25 (although that's GOTTA change).

There was a piece on NPR today, too. Jimi Hendrix's 1969 Album Set For Release I thought the remasters that came out earlier this decade were the "definitive" remasters. Other than the DVD stuff, how are they going to be any different? The "new" album is VERY exciting, though.

Exactly. If Guy Ritchie had spent more time on character development & storyline and less on CGI, it might have been a decent movie. It looked good, but that only goes so far (not far enough). "Feh" is right.

I don't think he mentioned Last Exit or Sonny Sharrock, who would have fit nicely in this piece. Maybe even Elliot Sharp or electric Zorn.

Going to see Al Kooper at Yoshi's tonight. Should be pretty entertaining.

About 20 years ago I saw him in H&H Bagels on the Upper West Side in NY.

I have these doubles, excellent pressings. I somehow missed the 10 cd set. But I do have most of CBs music on a mish mash of albums on various issues as well as a couple of cds. I could do with a nice set but I would want the alternates. Yes, those came out as Emarcy 2LP sets I think, imported here from the US. I bought one of them from Mole Jazz's deletion rack 'back in the day'. Good sound, I agree. Yes, they were part of "The EmArcy Jazz Series" - a nice set of releases. There were others - I have: Cannonball Adderley "Beginnings" Maynard Ferguson "Stratospheric" Sarah Vaughan "Recorded Live"

I have 2 double LP sets of that stuff that came out on Mercury about 30 years ago. Still great. Might have to consider this set, though.
