  1. After all this, what are we gonna do if this turns out to be some sort of single-CD "best of" the box?
  2. The Concord Records site gives a pretty thorough rundown of what's inside.
  3. I just ordered some Sennheiser PMX60s for my MP3 player. Seemed like a reasonable price for decent sounding (and portable) phones.
  4. It's still (for the moment!) available within the Curtis Amy Select, and it's RECOMMENDED that you get this and fast! What Lon said ...
  5. I LOVE that one! Good choice.
  6. I forgot about that one. I got that deal, too!
  7. I noticed that - very odd. You would think with all the activity they might get suspicious.
  8. You too, Erik!
  9. I've told a bunch of friends who have also ordered it. If this doesn't go through for some reason, I'm TOAST.
  10. A friend told me that they did that on a Gram Parsons box, too. He ordered 3 and gave away his "extras" to friends. Here's what the box is about (5CDs!): Side Steps
  11. AWE-some! Thanks for the heads-up. My order just went though ...
  12. "Start of Something Beautiful" and "Anesthetize" were highlights for me at the SF show.
  13. Sounds like the packaging is very much like the SF Nuggets set that came out a couple of years ago. I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point.
  14. A friend of mine who used to be in the record biz, thinks this might be the end of the line for them - at least as far as box sets are concerned. He's thinking that the new "Where The Action Is! Los Angeles Nuggets 1965-1968" set might be the last.
  15. Just reviewed in the NY Times, too: Two Bands, a Million Decibels I'm guessing you need to double up on your ear plugs for this band.
  16. I heard it on Sunday. That was a great (and surprising) piece.
  17. I think we may have dodged a bullet. They have been predicting 80'-90's this week, but it looks like it's gonna be MUCH cooler. LOVE the fog!
  18. Only been to Austin for SXSW, but it definitely seems like a cool city. Would like to check it out some other time of year.
  19. Saw Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree with one of these Video Guitars the other night. Pretty wild.
  20. Get ready for the Video Guitar! Pretty crazy ... BTW, after a day of reflection, I'm liking the show more and more. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube (probably from their last tour?), that are good to watch in retrospect.
  21. As I started to mention over on FB ... Show was good - not great. I think the problem was that the entire first half consisted of their new album ("The Incident", a single 55-minute opus) in its entirety. Since it was only released this week and my Amazon shipment didn't arrive until show-day, there was no chance to get familiar with this very complicated piece of music. I was exhausted by "half-time". Then they took a 10-minute break (highlighted by a countdown clock) and came back in exactly 10 minutes. The crowd counted down the last 10 seconds, too! For the rest of the show Steve announced that they would be doing older tunes, but from what I could tell there wasn't anything from their 90's-era catalog, which I'm most familiar with. There were at least a few from "Deadwing" and "Fear of a Blank Planet" - the other tunes I didn't recognize. The best of these was a solid version of "Anesthetize". Anyway, I enjoyed the show and it was great to see these guys work live. Very well rehearsed considering the complexity of their music. Steven Wilson is unquestionably "the man" in this outfit, too. The nearly sold-out crowd was ecstatic throughout and I think he mentioned towards the end of the show that they would be coming back to SF on the second leg of their tour (but I might be mistaken).
