  1. Sounds like a great time, Free! And a fantastic opportunity to hang with some serious blowers! Also, must be nice to get yourself out of Florida ...
  2. Pretty good review in yesterday's NY Times, too. Lessons and Tales for Friends That sounds like it could be an event. Please, let us know details later! OK..........will do.
  3. yeah........price was a major decision-maker on this one. I'm a sucker for bargain-priced pedals, I guess.
  4. Mingus Dynasty on Sunday as part of the SF Jazz Fest. John Handy sitting in with nephew Craig, too.
  5. I must have been tired last night, I "impulse ordered" a Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive pedal from M's Friend. I certainly don't NEED it. OTOH, it was only $39, so........whatever.
  6. EVERY night is a jazz festival in NYC.
  7. Thanks for that, Agg. I made it through about 10 seconds ...

WHOA! What an insanely amazing lineup. (between both the Silver and Lee Morgan players)
  9. Got PT tix for Sept 18 (wish it was sooner). Now I just have to wait it out. I hate Ticketmaster. All the freaking fees nearly totalled the price of a 3rd ticket! "Facility Charge", "Convenience Charge", "Order Processing Fee" - gimme a break.
  10. I heard that, too. Not sure what to make of it. I can't find any discographic info that says Miles played flugelhorn on that date.
  11. I wasn't originally planning on this, but I DL'd "Five Peace Band Live" based on the review in today's NY Times. Plus, it's only 8 tracks - no biggie. Looking to the Present While Peeking at the Past
  12. Anyone have tips on seating at Iridium? I've only been there once and was seated off on the side with my back to the stage.
  13. Did any drummers explode? No. But they took a few questions at the end.........and it was asked about.
  14. Just got back from Unwigged & Unplugged - an informal retrospective of Spinal Tap, Mighty Wind and Guffman tunes, plus some random videos and "rareties". Quite funny and entertaining!
  15. What other info are you looking for? I've got the vinyl, I can look it up for you.
  16. Perfect timing! I plan on being in NYC those days. Will definitely have to check that out'
  17. That was the first GJT album I got. Agreed - one of the best, too. BTW, someone (Hank?) must be a baseball fan because several of the covers are photos of baseball players.
  18. A lot of them are on eMusic these days.
  19. All the ones I've heard are great and live up to the group's name. The early Village Vanguard albums are a good place to start.
  20. have a ROCKIN' good b-day, Aggggggggggggggggggggggggg!
  21. Giants blew a Lincecum gem today. At least he got a no decision.
  22. There's been alot of (...ahem) buzz about Fly.
  23. I just realized that Fly (Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier) is playing at Yoshi's on Monday. I may have to drag myself out to see them. Got a great write-up in the NY Times recently.
  24. Yeah........that's a good one, too.
